I would like to see more customization during character creation. to be able to change muscle mass, hieght and weight, diversity.

not happening. they already said that each race get's two body shapes, male or female. out side of those choices you get the standard face changing options.

Me too, but thats not going to happen anytime soon because its a LOT of work with all the cut scenes etc. I'd already be happy with bodies that have more realistic proportions and female bodies that don't have noodle arms or pencil necks.

I was wondering why Dragon's Dogma hardly had any cut scenes... maybe that's why. :P

I too would really love this. If other games can do it, surely DA can too. Ah well maybe DA4 or 5...

To be honest, cutscenes is BY FAR the most overrated thing in the game industry today. Too little gain compared to the problems and limitations it creates. I could live without them,

I know it won't be in DA:I, but it's something I'd like them to consider for future games. Also body hair and more varied location options for tattoos.

I agree with OP. Plus i am vouching for more regular body type NPC's. I mean i dont want every bodytype to be jacked like Arnold, because it takes away from our protagonists. On the female front is a little better because there are more "normal" bodies but too many females are with perfect bodies, despite being not important whatsoever.

I,myself, spend a lot of time in the gym, so it would be nice if your companions and agents have strong, healthy bodies and many more common men, women, vilagers, citizens are on the more "regular" side of things.

Depends entirely on the game.

I think this would be nice. Toned and fit for Our Heroes, but regular bodies for your average villager or noble. And please, not every female NPC needs F-cup breasts and a corset that evidently pushes them up to her chin. Every male NPC should not have a massive barrel chest and tiny waist.

I doubt a female warrior with F-cup breasts would get past her first training session, IRL; devs please take note!

While that would be quite nice, it's clearly not going to happen. I'm going to stick to hoping that whatever body type they choose is consistent for both male and female characters; I'm quite tired of obviously strong male PCs and fairly weak-looking female PCs. Pick one, I don't even care so much which (although I would prefer the strong choice as I tend to play warrior types), and apply it to both.

The only way I could agree more is if you had said "voiced PC is BY FAR the most overrated thing", but suffice it to say that I do agree. Cutscenes that don't involve your character, establishing shots and intro movies and the like, I feel do add to the game -- but I've not seen anything to convince me that cutscenes involving the PC add much, and they definitely do seem to subtract. Ah well. That, I am sure, is not changing.

Why can't my character use bows, I thought they fixed this? Ohhhh...right. ;)

Now, now, they are not as big as you think  Sadly I've been saddled with the unruly suckers myself; it's just unrealistic for every single woman on Thedas to have the same size (it's not exactly common) and then also to be a petite skinny little toothpick... and wield a 2H sword, as well.

Indeed, mine are 36GG and it's really not that big. Two sports bras (or some kind of bandages in a medieval setting) immobilize them. It makes far less sense for someone small and skinny to be able to wear heavy armor and lift a two handed sword.

All this talk of female bust size *shudder*

Jk. :P

I wish we could customize our body shape, particularly fitness levels. As much as I like buff men, buff mages never made sense. I had to head canon that my mage Hawke worked out a lot to stay in shape. I'd rather my mages be somewhat skinnier than my warrior...

As for women, I like them to be rather busty, but that's only cause I love to make them look fab in skin tight clothing, which it seems Inq is going to have. Yay!

Too bad it's not coming for Inquisition, but if the body proportions are done rights, ill be too busy looking at my meticulously crafted hot inquisitors to care.

But you know the funny thing is that if we could customize the body, I bet we would still see a lot of big boobs and super muscular men. Doesn't mean the option wouldn't be nice though.

I don't understand why a physically fit mage Hawke is such a hard concept for people to wrap their heads around. Hawke spent his/her entire life as a farmer. Why wouldn't they be fit?

Fit? Yes

As muscular as my warrior? A little off.
Did you see his guns in the champion armor? I loved it but it put my warriors to shame.

It's even more odd in Dragon Age: Origins

I realize its a game design limitation so I adjust by making up reasons for it, but I always prefer modifying my characters body type to further enhance the RP experience. I

You would think so, BUT--! Have you ever played Dragon's Dogma? If you play online, you can rent other people's pawns. Sure, quite a few are scantily clad busty pre-teens (puke!), but there are also male and female characters of every shape and size, dressed in all kinds of armor.

Back in the middle ages farmers didn't look like body builders either. Neither do construction workers that lift a lot of heavy objects each day. If you want to look as muscular as protagonists in video games you have to go pump iron for 1.5-2 years, shoveling pig sh!t and lifting heavy hay balls 24/7 isn't going to make you strong or look shredded.

Why is that? Because that kind of work (lots of repetitions, low weight) is only working your muscle endurance rather than strength, and strength is what makes your muscles look big. To get strong and look strong you need to lift REALLY heavy objects but only a couple times and let the targeted muscle group rest for the next 48 hours so it can regenerate the damage and increase muscle fiber thickness.

A perfect example is a cyclist and a powerlifter, the powerlifter squats 130kg 10 times, he gets strong and builds big leg muscles. The cyclist pedals for hours, increases his muscle endurance but his legs won't change a lot, optically.

Of that I have no doubt. And I have played it, just not that far. I own it on console and I'm just not very good on consoles. x) But I do think that if it were possible to adjust the body, and people are able to extend the sliders....*shudders* I think we would see some terrifying boobs, the likes of some Skyrim mods.
