Anyone near San Jose, CA? (Was the original post.)
Posted: Saturday, 13 July 2002 10:32AM
Hiya... I am a little south of San Jose myself. Equally close to Monterey, Santa Cruz. Looking for a group of mature people (of any ages) in the area to play the game with on a regular basis.
I started playing D&D around '78 or '79 and have loved role-playing and AD&D ever since. I have played every character type in my 20+ years and have DM'd a lot as well. I am new to NWN and to the 3rd Edition rules (still have my original Players Handbook, Monster Manual, DM's Guide, etc.) but have just purchased the new 3rd Edition rulebooks as well as the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting.) I am hoping that a party of stout adventurers from this area might play regularly together, perhaps in time setting up and running campaigns for each other as well. (I am just beginning to look at the Toolset and what it can do.)
Interested parties please reply here. I look forward to getting to know you.

Greyhawk Mercenaries want YOU! (Second post in Ye Olde Tavern.)
Posted: Sunday, 27 February 2005 02:12PM
Greetings,
The Greyhawk Mercenaries Guild (GMG) is currently looking for a handful of people to join us for our regular gaming sessions.
We are a mature (most of use well over 30+ years) group who enjoy spending time together. We try not to take ourselves too seriously and spend a lot of our time laughing, especially when things get tough in a game.
What are we looking for?
Sense of humor is a must. Ability to role-play is also important. Flexibility and a desire to have fun with friends must take precedence. And, since our Sunday evening games use TeamSpeak (to give things that PnP sitting around the table having a good time feel) you should have a good internet connection and a decent machine.
How do we work? Well, in short we spend a little time each week deciding which mod (there are so many) we want to try out next and then take whatever time if takes to complete the module in four hour blocks each Sunday from 7:00 - 11:00 PM. We select characters for any given module based on our likes, dislikes and what the others playing have already laid claim to. Any member who can make it will play and any member who can not make it will never hear anything other than, "Hey... sorry you could not make it last week; we missed you." If we fail to finish something one week we finish next time... or the time after that. Some of us also play during the week on various servers and would love to have another GMG member to pal around with there.
We are a bunch of former PnP players who have spent the last couple years playing this game together and having a good time. We are very relaxed, like to work as a team (but some characters are not as good at this as others) and really enjoy our time together.
Why are we recruiting? Long story short... job changes, cross-country moves and other real life issues have, over the last two years, seen our numbers drop. So, we have decided to open the doors in the hope that we will find other mature persons to enjoy the game with on a regular basis.
If you are interested you can send a request to join or email me, Amracil, at acivilwarrior@yahoo.com and I will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
Happy gaming!
Amracil
