Attack speed and combat symmetry

Watching the demo videos, I've noticed that party members attack much faster than other humans/humanoids who aren't party members (enemies). Enemies also seem to have their attacks constantly interrupted.

Was this just a demo thing?

Different HP/resistances/attack speed due to different levels because there isn't level scaling (which is neat, of course) and not because the mechanics are different for party members?

 

I find it unappealing when my character and followers seem to be transplanted from another universe with completely different physics, resistances etc. It's also not necessary.

It would be beautiful, when fighting a class/race/level combo that mirrors your own, to feel that you're part of this world, too.
