Probably way too ambitious, but... new weapon style?

If Warriors can dual wield again (which I hope that they can), then they would have three weapon styles. Mages have their magic school trees. That leaves the pitiful rogue with only two options... bow and arrow and dual wielding. So, if I may make a suggestion for a new fighting style.

The bo-staff? Something very Jade Empire-esque and well... Gambit/Nightwing like a totally awesome sauce? It would actually be a good weapon for fighting Darkspawn, not as much danger of getting their blood everywhere (and boy does it it get everywhere in Dragon Age) and getting poisoned.

Not to mention that it would look awesome.

Indeed, just think of all the creative weapon designs they could make. You could have this:

Or hell, even this:

Doubtful, also Laidlaw already that dual welding warriors are extremely unlikely and that it's chances weren't to good and some other devs indicated that they see it as a rogue only thing.

At this point it would be to late to even try to add those things and it's one of the main reasons why we aren't getting crossbows back right away though they may be back at some point further down the line.

Someone didn't play much Soul Calibur did they? Or Dynasty Warriors I take it? ;)

I was thinking more along the lines of what a flippy, kicky, BA weapon style that would be.

Like I said, I know it is probably way too much to ask for, but I think it would be really awesome. Not to mention that sometimes one gets bored with sharp pointy things to put in people.

Hmm. I'd more love to see a mage staff with a blade at the top for chopping up any meat that got too close. More cool designs of staves in general would be nice.

Maybe I should just settle for mages being a bit more martial and less magical when it comes to close combat.

What seems more pragmatic for the time? Long-range piercing weapon, rapid slashy-stabby blades, or... large, cumbersome, and blunt stick? Or how about a polearm for the Warrior class? We could have the option of traditional and practical sword-and-board, heavy and sweeping two-hander, or... stabbing stick that's best for formations.

...yeah, not really seeing the appeal for these in a Dragon Age game.

It'd be interesting. If they introduce pole arms as weapons, might they put in a pole arm-focused warrior-weapon style/ability tree? Most are wielded with 2 hands, but I think the special abilities might be a bit diff. than the typical 2-hander ability tree.

You're not just looking at weapons/weapon styles though, because then it becomes implementing animations and rigging, and it's a whole lot of work in itself, outside of creating said items, etc.
