I ususally find the helmet ugly on the main character. Thats why I love the option in DA2 that Hawke could wear a helmet, but "hide it" so we don´t have to see it all the time. Particulary annoying in the cutscenes where the helmet hides most of the Inquisitioners face.

So please keep that option in the new DA game!

Alternatively, they could have more helmets with that flappy bit on the front, so that in cities you could see your protag's face, and in combat, they'd be suitably armoured.

I like helmets.

It is confirmed that there very likely will be a hide-the-helm option for your character. They talk about it at around 30 minutes into the Crafting podcast by Nerd Appropriate if you'd like to hear it for yourself.

As a option? yes. I hate how in both games while in a conversation they hide the helmet and not just me but alot of people I know personally. Only mass effect games have the helmet on while in conversation, which is optional unlike dragon age. So please let it be a option just like the mass effect games. Some like it while other dont. Seeing the helmet in conversations and cutscenes its a great satisfaction for me.

I like helmets - if they are pretty. Usually not the case of DA games, sadly. I'm sure they won't miss this option since we had that option in DA2 and helmets were always hidden in DAO cutscenes (as I remember).

I think if you're too vain to wear a helmet you deserved to get hit in the head by a broadsword and feel the full force of the damage. At the very least they should add an additional death message, from "You have died" to "Wear a helmet, dumb ass".

Because everyone should have to play exactly the way you do in an RPG, right? Brilliant! :P

I support the option to hide the headwear, just as they did in DA2. I like the stat bonus while still being able to enjoy my PCs face. I actually forgot what my character looked like in Skyrim as she always had a Daedric helm on. What's the point of all the time you spend in the CC then?

I didn't say everyone had to play my way, I was just voicing my opinion on it.

While the helmet toggle is my favorite solution, I like this idea too.  It was a nice feature in... Dragon's Dogma, I think.  The face is exposed in city but covered once you exit.

For this exact reason I gimped myself and only wore circlets.  Helmet toggle is a must!

I don't object at all to this option.  I do, however, object to the helmet always being hidden in conversations.  I didn't like that at all in DAO and DA2.

I'd also like helmets to be visible on the companions.  Some games don't let us put visible helmets on the companions (NWN2 was like this), and it drives me crazy.

I just want it hidden while talking.
