I was just checking my war assets which were sitting at about 1300 or so. Then I hit the Y button (xbox) and boom, my N7 special ops asset showed up. I didn't think this asset apeared when you were offline. Is this war asset available even when you are offline?

EMS aka Effective Military Strengh is dependant of your Galactic Readiness. Once you have 100%, go offline and you won't log into the game, this readiness won't drop at all and will always be 100%. Once you log in, it will drop again. There's a mini browser game that allows you to earn galactic readiness % in N7HQ.

I found out that once you do Cronos Station Galactic Readiness will drop down to the default 50% if you are not online. Surprised me. If my war assets had not already been above 3100 I would have had to go online before finishing the game to get the "breath" scene.

At any rate, I am curious about the N7 special ops asset, not the Galactic Readiness. Normally, when I check the war assets computer it is not there since I almost always play SP offline. This time, however, I wanted to see the text saying how we are doing against the Reapers and I hit the Y button. I think this may have taken me to the map. When I went back to the war assets my EMS had exploded because my N7 special ops asset was now included (that asset alone is worth 1500).

N7 Ops asset only adds meat for the grinder in final assault on Earth. Increasing your chances to get 'best ending' if you forget about ems, etc.

It really sucks that the Galactic Readiness and N7 Spec Ops aren't internet dependent, if they were I would have much more fun with my playthroughs, but it's what every one up here said about it, no internet means that it stays wherever it is at since you synced it.
