I would be interested in hearing what Aethyta would say if she was able to be at the chapel on Thessia.

I can imagine her ruminating about what the Asari should have done.

At one point during the first conversation shep has with aethyta, she will call shep liara's boyfriend/girlfriend even if they're not romantically linked. Can't remember if this is caused by the paragon interrupt or not.

I think the way to avoid that is to choose 'Practical, I like it' rather than the top 'relax more' option when first talking to Liara in the cafe. I've non-scientifically  tested this several times and the result has been the same. Aethyta calls you 'a human commander who used to work for Cerberus' when you do that. Could be a bug.

Hated that line too. Wanted to be like "Did you just threaten a Spectre? Nah, not even that. Did you just threaten me?"

The romanced version where you throw her words back in her face somewhat redeems it. Stil...

That dosn't work with the Asari who killed Joker's sister though, you have to go up the lift and back.

I'm torn between letting that Asari kill herself or let her live. I know it doesn't really matter all that much as far as the story goes(or EMS for that matter), but it's still one of those decisions I agonize over sometimes. Do I let her kill herself so she doesn't have to live with it? Or should I let her suffer?

Another way to look at it; should I let her kill herself so "justice" was served, or should I give her the chance to redeem herself?

It's a great bit of story most people miss I think. The pay off when joker mentions his sister later on is great (even though shep makes no sign of putting two and two together).

There was a thread made along time ago of whether or not you would tell Joker or not

You don't have to go that far. Just do a quick save and then reload. That way you don't have to go through two loads to get a continuation of the conversation. I do that for the two Turians outside of Purgatory and the two smugglers at the upper bar in Purgatory as well as the Turian/Asari couple just outside the Normandy airlock so I can approve/disapprove at the Spectre terminal.

Meh the loading times are not that slow, a few seconds in total.

It's a bug that got introduced in one of the patches/DLC. Probably the same one which fixed some Liara romance bugs. I never got this bug on multiple playthroughs until couple patches/DLCs got released

OK, I found out the dialogue does differ depending on whether you brought Liara with you on the Noveria mission. For this run I did not bring Liara and her conversation with Aethyta reflects that. There is no mention of having been there. So the game does track which team mates you had with you during the main quest missions in ME1.

I'm very interested in how this will turn out in my current playthrough. I recruited Liara after Virmire. (this and killing Ashely has made it so that I do not have a picture of anyone on my desk in ME2 and Kaidan comes to rescue me, a male shep, in the ME2 intro... but that's besides the point)

In ME1 itself this leads to Liara speaking much more loving about her mother.

I've yet to see Liara in ME2... will she say the mind-flaying thing?

They should've done MUCH MUCH more with that.

That's a dialogue bug. If you suggest she relax more (top of the wheel) instead of acknowledging the practicality of spending her time on the Presidium searching for resources for the war effort (bottom of the wheel), you'll see that glitch.

I believe dialogue for Tali changes in Leviathan depending on whether you brought her to Feros. Dialogue for her and Jack changes based on whether they served as specialists in the suicide mission. I'm sure there are other examples.

Yes she will when you see her. You hear it in a cutscene. I always recruit T'soni after Virmire.

Oh I'm sure there are more. But I like posted earlier in some topic here:

I had Wrex with me the entire game in ME1. When picking up Grunt and the following discussion about how dangerous he might be, my Shep could've said something about his experiences with Wrex. Maybe even say that his experiences with Wrex made him try to pick up Okeer.

Things like that. The smaller things.

Personally, I'd have preferred that the word budget go to exposition instead. Major issues in the plot were presented in a far too black-and-white manner IMO.

When I see Mordin making a strong argument for the genophage in ME2, then come ME3 no mention is made of the points he brought up and the only character still advocating for it is a shrill racist, it's pretty obvious what's going on. And this is coming from someone who is anti-genophage. When I see Gerrel pose a stronger argument for reclaiming Rannoch in ME2, then Xen poses a weak one in ME3, it's the same story.

The dalatrass should have brought up some of these points. Instead of saying the Krogan were "no longer useful," she should have truthfully said that the Krogan tried to finish what the Rachni started. A cure undermines Wrex's societal reforms - we should have been able to question him on whether it was the right thing to do, even if we couldn't change his mind. If his back is against the wall, let's talk to him and hear him explain why. Establish the perspective. Same with Gerrel, Raan, and Legion - all we can get from Raan is fleet composition. Let's hear from her about the near-extermination of her people, the centuries of isolationism, the heretics, and the enormous shadow it casts on any kind of peace process. Let's talk to Legion and learn why they did those things, and whether they've learned from past mistakes. Let's call up Gerrel and see what alternatives (if any) they had to war, challenge him for getting them in this situation and hear his reasoning for it to judge for ourselves instead of simply punching him like an ignorant thug.

Present the arguments in their entirety. Don't limit the synopses to those facts and arguments which only support one side.

There is a dialogue change if Liara wasn't present. At the point where she'd say "I was there" she instead says "She said it was like needles in her mind (very paraphrased)." I can't remember the exact words. I saw it on YouTube. I'm surprised the game kept track of that. There are times in the game where it clearly doesn't like when Garrus boasts about facing the rachni on Noveria even though I've never brought him or when he and Tali talk about past missions as if they were there.

It did a poor job though when it came to Garrus and Liara talking with Kirrahe, about Virmire, on Sur'kesh when they never met each other in a playthrough I did.

But that would mean the game would have to assume that not everyone likes Liara.

And we all know Liara is the bastion of being loved.
