Sometimes going in completely blind about a game can be a very good thing, since you don't have any preconceived notions of the all the features and what to expect, so in a way you can take everything you see in the game within that 1st instance

Yes, definitely
I've been gaming all my life, but didn't get my own xbox until DA2. (I bought it to play DA2 and DA:O on, then things escalated from there.) I've never cared about a game as much as I've come to care about the DA and ME franchises. And if BioWare produces a new game, I will follow that one with bated breath as well!

hehe
tbh the community is pretty awesome, I mean there are a few oddballs with very extreme opinions that will never shift but they all have a unique charm about them that I find endearing
, I could list their names but its not for me to say, pretty sure they know who they are ^__^

The Xbox 360 was my 1st proper console of that generation, though originally got it for Lost Odyssey and Eternal Sonata, then I saw Dragon Age and Mass Effect, I mean before them I enjoyed the many previous Bioware titles, but those two series set my eternal love for Bioware, I really can't wait to see what they bring to the table over the next 10 years
Oddly enough I've played ME 1 and 2 on 360 and PC, ME 3 solely on PC(changed over when i got an upgraded PC), and Played Origins and DA II on 360 and PS3 and eventually PC (swapped to PS3 when 360 blew up but got to the point I wasn't going to buy anymore games for the 360, all my attention switched to the PS3, instead of getting a replacement)

I followed DA2 really closely when it was in development.
Not sure if this counts but I also remember following every shred of information that was put out there for Super smash bros brawl up until it's release.

I actually wish I weren't following DAI - I went into DA:O, DA:A, DA2 and ME 1-3 completely unspoiled and it was a great experience. I think I already know too much about this game.

The Xenosaga series. It's been years since I've been into a game series as much as I loved Xeno. ![]()
(Also part of the reason I can't bring myself to play the Mass Effect series. Not ready to let another space opera rpg into my heart again just yet, haha.)

Xenogears remains my favorite video game 15 years later but I actually always had a lot of problems with Saga myself. Mass Effect introduction erased my desire to ever go back. You sound like you hold that trilogy far dearer than I ever did but you ought to give ME an honest shake soon enough. It is so good.

Yes, DA2 and ME3.
It's kinda funny, 'cause in the end I get the feeling I'll have spent more time stalking them than actually playing the game.

Don't see much mention of Xeno around here, nice.

Always was a big Xenogears fan, which is what got me into Xenosaga in the first place. But the Xenosaga series became my favorite of the two, though I know that isn't a typical opinion in the fandom. (Funnily enough I also tend to favor DA2 in many respects over DA:O which isn't a popular opinion around here either... Go figure.
) The Xenosaga series definitely had it's share of problems (as did Xenogears to be honest), but it was still a great ride.
If I play the Mass Effect series, I'll probably start with the next one. Sounds like a convenient place to jump on.

Oh god I feel you there. I am so weird -- I spend all this time doing this with a few select games and then I only play them like twice in their first years compared to the bulk of the fans this attached to the production phase who will log hundreds upon hundreds of hours to at least sort of justify this part.

It's the thrill of the chase!
Seriously, I think it is.

Haha, yes. Xenogears was no perfect model of video gaming itself, yeah. It had some glaring flaws but damn do I love it nevertheless. When I was 11 I didn't really see those flaws and when I was 15 I wrote a review on GameFAQs and gave it a 10 and when I was 22 I went back and amended the score to a 9... but still cited it as my número uno anyway.
I'm almost finished with DA2 right now and I've been giving a lot of thought to which Dragon Age I prefer. I honestly... don't know. I suppose I had best finish this before getting bogged down, but I could see myself joining you in minority land. The characters are just so good.
And really that's the biggest thing I love about the Mass Effect Trilogy. Is that its cast is generally unstoppable. Couple that with my undying love affair with space opera in general and damn that's a potent recipe.
If you do decide to jump in with the next game you're probably right that it'll be a good springboard for new fans. Maybe pick up the old games it you like what you see.

I followed the progress of FFXIV ARR pretty closely after hearing that they had taken down the sale of the original version 1 to reboot the game. It was pretty exciting
.
The release of DA2 was pretty instantaneous after the release of Witch Hunt, so you couldn't really follow that one too closely. I like that Bioware are showing us this stuff though
, it connects with the fanbase more than keeping everyone in the dark.

Not really. I've genuinely never cared all that much. I just bought the product if I wanted it.

Yes. Origins - for about six months before it came out, I wasn't around for the whole five years - and DA2.
There are other games I've checked up on time to time while they were under development, but Dragon Age is the only thing that keeps me haunting the forums every day.

I've not been following DAI anywhere near as closely as DA2 and ME3. DA2 was a bit disappointing but still fun but ME3 really killed my enthusiasm. Curiosity to check out the revamped forums brought me back in and I'm feeling a bit more engaged with following DAI now, hence why I'm here.

Mass Effect 3, Black Ops 2 (I worked on it a bit), Skyrim, Titanfall and Inquisition. I wouldn't have thought of Titanfall either, but since I played the beta, it's plaguing my mind.
Usually I'm very quiet about how much I track a game but Inquisition is the first time where I'm actively searching for new info on a daily basis.
