It's been awhile since I've been in and around Origins mods, so I'm wondering if there is a mod that changes the default female walk/run animation. I'd even take an import of my Hawke's swinging hips. I've checked Nexus and BSN Projects and didn't find anything there, and I'm not sure where else to look. Is there anything like this out there?

Not that I am aware of. Whilst technically feasible, it would require far too much effort and work to be practical.

I hate the way it made my rogue!Hawke's head go ping-pong between her dagger pommels.  Oy vey.

There's a mod that lets you overwrite her running/standing animations with dude!Hawke's.  Pretty sure Aveline has the same thing.  (You never see her stand with her feet together and stretch her arms oh-so-cute, for instance.)  I don't know of any for DAO, though.

(Also saw a screenshot once of f!Hawke skinned to look like Sebastian, standing next to Sebastian, doing that same yawning thing.  Very illuminating.)

Corker, I use that male animation mod for DA2 because the hip animation made me feel wierd for the way a woman was portrayed in the game. LOL ;D

DA2 is set up differently than DA1. DA2 has provision for separate animations for males and females (in order to facilitate the model strut) and separate entries for the PC, companions and NPCs. DA1 by default only has provision for a single set of animations per race, that are shared between sexes and regardless of type (i.e. PC, companion, NPC).

To change things in DA2, all that is required is a minor GDA edit. It's a bit more complicated in DA1.

DarthParametric, I'm pretty sure females have their own walk+run animation variants in DA:O. If that's true wouldn't they be able to be overridden without affecting male characters, who would likely be coded to use different animations anyway?

I didn't say it was impossible, just more work than DA2. In DA2 there is some high level control via the APR GDA. In DA1 you need go down to the level of the individual animations. However, there is much less control in DA1, because all (humanoid) races and sexes share a single blendtree. So you can't have specific animations for just the PC, for instance, unless you create a custom race with a custom blendtree. And that's a whole lot of PITA to deal with, compared with DA2.
