I just promoted all my characters (I know, I know) b/c I made some...hm...really really dumb questionable decisions on some of my earlier specs, and a lot of the basic characters needed a complete overhaul. I decided that I'd try the weapons platform GT instead of the flamer GT. Maybe not the smartest way to build him, I mean, that's some major armor deeps you're giving up, but still, cooldown-damning weapons platform that's pretty good, imo.

*Disclaimer: the numbers I refer to assume a GPS, numbers will vary if a non-Geth weapon is employed. Also, I'm not arguing the DPS of the GT vs any other builds, I'm just arguing his passive weapon numbers.

This is what I ended up with and I have to say, I am very pleasantly surprised, both with the character and the GPS, which I might have slept on previously.

Inb4GI, this thing is just nasty. If you run the GPS/Scorpion, then both of your guns stagger, and since you don't have to worry about powers w/ all of his passives, you get a guaranteed 40% weapons dmg increase w/ HM/Networked AI, and you can get 50% if you go 6b instead of 6a in HM (for comparison, the most weapons dmg increase you get w/ BatSol is 25%, Destroyer is 27.5%, TSol is 37.5%). Also, while the GPS can't shoot through cover, it ignores armor's damage reduction so it doesn't need any piercing mods or ammo (though it still benefits from AP ammo) and it's charged shots are ridiculously good.

The biggest increase I could come up w/ using attachments/gear/bonuses was 130% (HCB V, Warp IV, Shotgun Rail Amp III, and Shotgun Amp V) so assuming all my maths are correct, (you never know in this freakin game) that's + 40 from passives (50% with HM 6b), potentially +130 from the other stuff, so a 170-180% dmg increase.

Also, he's still somewhat tanky even using HM, can get to 1150 shields, and if you throw a SPC III on him his shield recharge is down to 1.2 seconds, and given he gets a 20% movement speed increase and won't benefit from anything else save for CM's, which are another good choice, he has one of the fastest recharges in the game (maybe the fastest?).

Also, for lulz, you can get a .6 second shield regen if you spec him like this. You'd have to lose some weapons dmg, but go stand in an Asari bubble and laugh @ your enemies while you pretty much never lose shields

Anyway, feel free to correct anything I've said that's a mistake. If you hate Flamer, don't sleep on the GT, he's better still useful without it.

TL;DR - GT, no Flamer, yes GPS. Less annoy. Many deeps. Such wow. Should use.

You should use the Geth Spitfire on him. He's better with it than the Geth Juggernaut.

This is exactly the way I build the trooper as well (with the exception of speccing into damage for evo 6 HM). I hate the flamer in everyway. He's like a more agile Destroyer.

I have my GT Flamerless too. Because I hate Flamer with a passion.

Recently used it to complete the GSMG challenge, with Heatsink + Clip, APIV and SMG Gear/Rail.

It actually wasn't too bad. It was like a mini Spitfire.

Try using the PPR and Venom on it. It's a lot of fun.

I love the Spitfire on him too, Argent.  It's perfect for him because of the speed increase in HM.  I bring the GPS for the secondary 'cause lore, Geth weapon dmg bonus, and lolonhostphantomBS.

Your build is good, Ocelot.  I like to use the Stronghold Package 5 and shield power cells 3; the quick shield recharge works nicely with the Spitfire.  Extended barrel, extended clip and AP or drill ammo for max deeps on the Spitfire.

Also, it was nice to finally get a game in with you, Ocelot  ;) .

mmh...if you want to use the GPS try "my" build, this build relies heavily on the GPS (a charged shot can OSK every mook up to gold phantoms) with flamer only as a side arm against heavy armored units, works even with Cyclonics 1/2.

Imho, if you want a true weapon platform GT (completely flamerless) you should try some heavy weapon, not the GPS, something like the Spitfire, Typhoon or Claymore, something that can truly benefit from the accuracy and rate of fire bonuses.

Well you'd be using Adrenaline Mods anyway if you put it on the Juggernaut, wouldn't you?

I do like the GPSMG on him and I run a similar setup, except I use Clip + SMG HVB V for armor, Disruptor for shields, and SMG Gear/Rail. My GPSMG is only lvl IV but it's a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to it getting to X.

I always use them on the Jugg, but I'd never use the Spitfire on him.

It bugs me to have to use them on the GT when using the Spitfire cuz I always liked using shield power cells and having that super fast shield recharge, but oh wellz.

Forgot to mention that his heavy melee is really effective and spammable if need be to stagger rushing enemies.  Your shield recharge is so fast, that the shield loss from the Geth heavy melee is irrelevant.  It doesn't have a target cap either iirc.

Argent, soon as I get some additional levels on my UR's, I'm sure I will make the Spitfire more of a mainstay in my rotation, but for now I'm still grinding out challenges so I'll be using a lot of weapons on him. Luckily one of the challenges I plan to complete soon is the Spitfire, so I will give it a shot. Unluckily, my Spitfire is only lvl I  :crying: so it needs all the help it can get.

jrob, I've got Stronghold III, I might give it a shot next time we play. It was nice to get a game, we should do it again soon  ^_^

You could try with the revenant if you don't have typhoon or spitfire.

If it's at level X.

Ext clip+barrel+ap ammo.

Seems like a great setup given the Typhoon/Talon's inherent bonuses, but I'd only run it regularly once I get my Typhoon/Talon leveled up. I'm only 135 hours in so my manifest is...lacking

Pretty sure it is 3 targets per pulse. Still very effective though.
