I always thought Omega was great. An actual antagonist, fantastic stage and level design, a little bit of a shake up for the combat parts, etc. Ya, it's short and almost entirely a side story, but as a visual and gameplay experience it's the best in ME3.

It has good gameplay but it's really not worth $15; the price for the PS3 version at least. Compare it to the Citadel DLC which is the same price and has roughly 3 times the duration. But as a huge ME fan and completionist I had to buy it for the full story. The lack of the Omega DLC upon ME3's release made an obvious void in the story that rivaled LotSB's absence upon ME2's release. You just knew something was missing with Liara on Illium and Aria on her couch in Purgatory. DLCs are annoying. You have to wait roughly a year to get the full experience.

On my current Shepard I did it after saving Jack and the kids from Cerberus on Grissom Academy.  So kind of an immediate retaliation.  Thought it fit in quite well.

Get on BW Montreal's Level Brah. Foreshadowing of things to come.

Mass Effect "fans" want more shooter, less talky and "RPG elements" bro. BW is so in touch with their community brah. Get with it.

Mass Effect with RPG elements are so 2010 dawg.

It's all about explosions and boom, boom bang bang, and becoming a "legend" and playing horde mode Gears of War rip of MP brah.

Didn't you get the memo dawg? Gears Effect.... **** cough, cough**** I mean "Mass Effect" 3 is the best brah. It's awesome bro.

God saves us all

I like to do it after the Coup.

It makes thematic sense to me, cerberus just struck you guys hard and you need to hit them back quickly. In comes aria with a good target to look at.

In both cases Liara and Aria had a giant "buy my DLC in few months!" signs over their heads. In any case, time contrainst forced them to cut Shadow Broker and Omega plots from base ME2/ME3 so I don't mind to see these stories restored in DLC format.

Ultimately, it doesn't make much difference.  But logically...story-wise, it makes sense after Priority: Citadel II.  It's also a good way to jump up about 10 levels if you want to advance really quickly prior to another mission.

Most of my Shepards are Sole Survivors. Omega actually puts mine into either a spiral of ally gathering/pent up revenge or stepping back from the edge. I love the dynamic in any case. Could have done with more RPG elements but then my idea of RPG elements is affecting the entire setup than a handful of choices. Story-wise I think it fits either after the coup or Horizon. With Horizon, it actually makes a whole lot of sense. You weren't so interested in helping Aria's petty power plays but now you've seen what Cerberus is doing to people it gets a hold of and if the Reapers were to react the way they did there, Omega is a strategical point in the Terminus Systems which could seriously affect the war.

I do Omega after Priority Rannoch. So that Tali has more scenes aboard the normandy.

Since the combat in the DLCs tend to be harder than in the main campaign, it´s a good idea to delay the mission as well. I also savor leviathan ( a DLC I actually quite enjoyed) for last, after Tessia has fallen.

As for Citadel, I always do it after Sanctuary in order to have Miss Lawson at my party celebration, since I like her just a little bit.
