Okay, So I was playing DA:O and I was in camp talking to Alistair about the Grey Wardens. During the conversation he talks about his time with the Grey Wardens and in the conversation he brings up a certain 'Burly Warden with a Big Fuzzy Beard' and how he drank all of them under the table. He also goes on to give us the name of this Warden: Gregor or Grigor hailing from the Anderfels.

Now I know the Wardens died at Ostagar, but Alistair never specified where exactly he met this Warden, nor whether (If he was in the battle) died or not.

Also I know that he isn't a confirmed companion, but from what I've seen in Pre-Alpha game play footage, he seems like the real deal of being a companion. But then again I could be wrong...

But to the point, I'm wondering if anyone else has actually made this connection and actually thinks the description of the man fits the character in the image below (NPC or Possible Companion):

I did mention that time ago on a different thread but the answer I got was the same, the grey wardens died at Ostagar. Although just as you said Alistair never mentions where he met this guy.

Anyway, regardless of that, I also mentioned that the personality of Grigor or whatever his name is, was very similar to that of Oghren so I would not like another Oghren in the party, I think they can come up with different personalities that might be even more interesting. Just my thoughts (^_^)

Reaching, but I can't say you're wrong either. Time will tell.

That makes sense to me. We have yet to meet someone from the Anderfels so it would seem due to introduce someone from there

I thought Anders was from the Anderfels?

We don't know that. His family was from the Anderfels, so when he was sent to the Fereldan Circle Tower, he was given the name Anders.

Interesting, but I doubt the writers either thought that far ahead or remembered that story so long after they wrote it.  It might be interesting if this fellow recalls meeting the King of Ferelden when he was just a new Warden though.

Omg! Duncan was also a warden with a beard, he must be a reincarnation of Duncan!

Some people said its Stroud. Its more likely than him being being Greigor. Besides Greigor can be killed if you are blood mage.

I can see it.

It's not like it'd be the first random npc they've brought as a companion.

Interesting theory. Alistair never does state where he met that Grey Warden, so it is certainly possible that Gregor didn't die at Ostagar.

That is a different character.  The character you are thinking of (Greagoir) is a Templar. Gregor is a Grey Warden mentioned in a story that Alistair tells.

The Gregor the OP is talking about is never met in the games, he is only mentioned in that story.

Knight Commander Gregoir, yes. The person OP is talking about hasn't been shown in the game though.

Well he does fit the description, and its a lot more likely that he is that Gregoir guy than him being Stroud

Yes because he was the only big burly warden with a beard.

Why are people reacting so viscerally to this idea? It's a hell of a lot more tame/grounded then the other theory threads that've been posted that got massive support here.

Yes because he was the only big burly warden with a beard.

So Stroud putting on 60 pounds and growing a beard is a better theory?

Let it be known that only one Warden in Thedas's history had a beard.

but he left them as we can see in one of the concept arts

if all grey wardens died how it is possible that we can see them in DAII or even in DA:I trailer?

Which explains why Duncan does the voice over at the end of DA:O, his zombie is doing it! :D

I figure it's a new warden from the Anderfels, it's pretty cold up there so beards are probably pretty common.

edit-Nuloen-All the Fereldan Grey Wardens died (which were the only ones that Alaistar knew) we saw mostly Orlesian Grey Wardens in II I believe

Geez people, it's just a little harmless, fun speculation by the OP.  Not really worthy of so much disdain.  It's not like he/she suggested that Kolgrim might be a companion or something like that!
