that don't look like no block I ever played with as a child and you clearly have not looked at big mounds of rock that are of the same mineral composition.

Out of all the things to worry about, you're worried about the color of the random boulders? Now I want them to do it just to spite you.

Have you bothered to watch any of the very early (pre-alpha) gameplay vids, OP? DAI already looks much prettier than console Skyrim. Have a little faith.

Im afraid that if there will be more open world Bioware wont give so mutch work to stone textures as they did when they were creating more isolated maps
If there will be various stone textures then its ok
But i dont want to have all stones in whole Thedas have same texture, just like in skyrim

NO GREY STONE BLOCKS

Stone.png

What, would you say, it necessary for the stone to not be just grey blocks? Moss? Earthy browns? Roots and tufts of grass?

The screenshots we've seen thus far look very promising but the most common stones in life are already grey (at least in my country), many of which are mostly featureless (bar a tiny tuft of mountain grass in a little crevice somewhere).

There probably should be much more moss on lowland rocks near meadows and rivers though. It's just that mountain cliffside rocks are just fine being grey without much plant life.

Most common stone in my country is granite and granite has many variations from almost black to red with black dots and glistering mica crystals
