That is a damned clunky looking thing. Like most fan interpretations I always thought their ships would looks more streamlined like the Asari's.

Actually the clunky design could mean that it's actually Wrex/Wreav's ship.

Well Wrex or Wrev would probably be flying a Salarian made ship since the Krogan dosen't build their own ships and it was the Salarians that uplifteded the Krogan in the first place.

weren't the krogan relieved of all their spacefaring vessels after the rebellion? if that's the case I can see wrex or wreav using any freighter they can get their hands on.

They sure were. And it's stated clearly by EDI during the course of ME3 after the genophage is cured (Or during that mission). Since there would be numerous problems actually getting the Krogan toPalaven. 1- they don't have any ships, after being demilitarized, and 2- they start fights when bunched together in tight quarters and have to get sedatives to keep calm for the trip.

So yes, Wreav/Wrex would HAVE to use any damn ship they get their hands on, most likely a civilian freighter or one of the Bloodpack's ships. Since they are present on Tuchanka and are a pan-galactic organization. And firmly in Wrex's/Wreav's hands after uniting the Krogan. (at least the Bloodpack on Tuchanka)

I kind of think that Salarian ships should look ugly.

I mean, the Asari are obviously Apple.  Great design, good quality, very expensive.  The Salarians I'd see as PCs - they'd want to design their ships to be easily upgradable so they can stay at the cutting edge of tech, even if it means they're blocky ugly things with noisy fans.

I see nothing wrong with a clunky design.  There is no wind resistance in space, and I can see the Salarians being utilitarian in ship design.
