I was looking at some concept art and noticed that a lot had an image of an important keep in mountainous terrain. Seeing as this keep (I'm presuming its the same one, could be wrong) turns up so often and seems important it could well be the Inquisition HQ. I suspect that it might be in the Frostback mountains because that would put it close to Ferelden and Orlais and would also make it easy to defend.

So what do you think?

It is quite possible since the Frostback Mountains seem to be one of the areas in the center of the map so makes sense as a center of operations. That plus the environment looks like the Frostback Mountain Range.

Maybe this has been discussed elsewhere but...in the second picture, with the guys greeting the Inquisitor...is that a man hanging from the middle of the tower? (where all the birds are)?

Anyways, that definitely seems like the same tower! Nice catch OP :). Its exciting that instead of just a camp or a min mansion we might have a whole castle as our 'base camp' this time around.

Looks like it. I'd imagine we'll have the option to perform grusome actions like that if you want to make the Inqusition feared.

I know, I really hope we'll be able upgrade it from a small keep to a sprawling fortress with underground dungeons, massive towers, stables, impenetrable walls, etc, etc.

It certainly looks like it. The birds gathered around him are probably crows.

He has been hanged in a rather peculiar way though, so I'm not quite sure whether it would be a punishment of humiliation or death...

I sure how so. I don't care where it is but having such a grand hub to return to sounds awesome and right up my alley.

Hm, the 1st, 3rd, and 4th pictures are definitely the same location, but the 2nd? I don't think so. The only thing 2 has in common with the others would be snow-topped mountains in the background. The design of that building just doesn't match up with the more medieval-looking castle.

Maybe 1, 3, and 4 show Weisshaupt Fortress and 2 is actually the Inquisition's headquarters? Or could these different locations be two of the Holds the Inquisitor can take over?

Yeah, I'm totally just pulling stuff outta my arse on this one. Anyone's guess is as good as mine at this point.

Maybe it's a different concept of the castle. Consider that in the fourth there's the female dwarf Inquisitor along with baldy elf and Cassnadra, and that the name of the concept is 'A new Home'. It doesn't leave much to interpretation. Beside, we won't visit Tevinter in DAI, so I doubt we'd go further North in the Anderfels.
Another concept that might show a different concept of the castle is the 'Coronation', concept, since it'd still based on the Frostbacks mountains.

3 and 4 look exactly the same. 1 looks different, though 3 and 4 might simply be upgraded versions of it. 2 looks completely different.

Well, if the keep is built in the Frostback Mountains I would like to meet some Avvar people. I truly liked that Kell character from one of the books, found him very interesting.  ^_^

If this is true, I wonder if dragons will be a common occurrence.

Yeah, I think you're right.

The concept art of the Frostbacks fortress with the dwarf Inquisitor is called "A New Home".

Cameron Lee hinted that the Inquisitor's main base is quite a significant bit of content, so I'm really interested in seeing what they do with it.

Why do people assume that those mountains are the Frostback Mountains? They aren't the only mountains in Thedas. Nor the only ones around the areas we know that we are going to visit in the game. The Inquisition could very well be based on the other side of Orlais in the Hunterhorns mountains for all we know.

They could be, but it stands to reason that the base would be more centrally located if the Inquisitor is expected to travel back and forth.

I better have a summer home somewhere warm, the heating bills for that place must be astronomical!

Could be, but that'd place the headquarters of the inquisition in a rather out-of-place position. Perhaps that's what they want, but since one of our main objectives as the inquistor will be to build up relations with the different nations of Thedas it'd be mildly odd that we'd be seated so far away from the rest of civilization. If our headquarters is within the frostback mountains we'd be smack middle on the border between Orlais and Ferelden, aswell as short travel distance away from Orzammar. It just makes more sense to have the keep be there than in the Gamordan peaks or the southern parts of the hunterhorn mountains, since both of these mountain ranges are far within Orlesian territory. If we knew that we'll be able to travel further north in the game than what we know now, such as the northern parts of the hunterhorns which are close to Kal-sharok, then that'd be a perfectly viable option aswell, since that'd be as much in the middle of Thedas as it's possible to get.

For a moment I read hindquarters on the tittle.
Anyway,I expect the inquisition's headquarters to be in a remote yet strategical position,so I assume a keep situated in the frostback mountains, will fit that description perfectly.Since the natural border between Ferelden and Orlais yet is not easily accessible. So it could be considered as a possible location for our headquarters.

Makes sense. It's hard to get to and probably very formidable. The environment's conditions aren't really a major issue when heat can be provided via FREAKING MAGIC STORMS! :D
