When I discovered the additional hair styles and face presets mods for DAO, I felt like I had hit the jackpot.

I assume DAI's character creator (like all other features) is going to be vastly improved... Okay I've learned that it can't be as vast as the one in Dragon's Dogma, but more hair styles, colors, and good-looking facial presets would be awesome!

Yes. I really hope they can render darker skin better. Every time I try to make a darker skinned character in DAO or DA2, they look patchy and meh. I mean, Mass Effect managed to not have darker skinned characters look terrible, why not DA?

Whenever I tried to make a darker skinned character, he/she would look fine in the character creation screen but then SUPER pasty in-game!

Also more varied presets and features. I can't do with five or six eye shapes and liking only two or three depending on preset. I just hope this game will be easier to mod as I'm assuming the lack of toolset for DAII is what caused the similar lack of hairstyles. And I also hoard mods so...yeah.

I hope DAI will become a combo of both DAO and DAII. The uniqueness and possibilities of Origins and the livelyness of DAII.

They've already confirmed that the Frostbite engine renders dark skin far better than the old games did.

As for more options ... I will also cross my fingers. Especially for beards. More awesome beards, please! And beards that DON'T wreck your character's jawline!

I know, I am so ready for this game :D

A lot of the fun IS the character creation part and one that takes me a long time to accomplish.

I agree!  It can take me hours to settle on a look I like, especially since I often make a character I love, then see her in a cut scene and have to start all over!

Ugh, yes please! I didn't like the character creator all too much in either of the DA games. It was so hard to create a good looking dude Hawke, or female elf in Origins.

Also hoping the hairstyles actually look good this time around. And mouth shape being modifiable, better noses, better eyebrows.... okay, I'll stop now.

LOL, I know, that's where that change face mod comes in handy for origins ;) In DA2, you had to go through the whole beginning before you got to make your character. I did not approve. :P

A better character creator would be so awesome! I used mods extensively for DAO and DA2 in an attempt at more variety, but obviously we can't rely on mods this time.

Yes!

I want better hair! With all of the mods you could get for Dragon Age Origins PC mod versions- it makes me wonder why there weren't more options for awesome hair built into the game!

I really want side braids, half-shaved hairstyles for women, and curly hair!

This is from a mod on the Nexus: I'm not sure which one, but it's good example of hairstyle choices I'd love to see!

I'd also really love to see freckles like what the second girl has!

Also, let me add: I would love if they released the Character Creator early, like with DA:O, so we can get started ahead of time. I know I can spend DAYS in the CC, so it would be nice to have my character ready to roll when the game is released. :)

Let's hope when they do it actually remembers what you made....

It worked fine for me in DA:O. Did people have trouble with that?

LOVE the second girl! She looks ready to kick some stylish butt. My Warden has similar braid action going. It was from a mod that included Sim's hair styles.

I did... :( I had to remake all of them when I could finally import them into DAO. They all reverted back to their default preset face.

Oh! And! What I also want in the CC....Sliders -with- arrows. So you can, you know, browse through stuff without ending up on the other end of the spectrum if you move slightly too much.

Things I'd like more variety in CC:  skin tones, hair styles, facial tattoos, mouths, dude noses, moustaches, beards, scars, freckles, jewelry, and make up/face paint.

Just those few things. Everything else was fine.

Everything I could think of right now has been mentioned a million times over, so I'll stick to two-

Better. Lighting. And. Zoom.

Oh my, I forgot about the lighting!!  Fixing that one problem alone would be a HUGE improvement.

YES.
The zoom was such a pain in the ass.

Please, please, please, let me choose the shape of the mouth. I never understood why Mass Effect had this option and Dragon Age did not.

First, let my character look the same in-game as she did in the character creator.

Next, I'm totally with the posters for more hair.  And yes, I like inappropriate hair.  I don't care if a darkspawn can grab that long, flowing mane that's clipping a little in my armor, so long as I look darn good while I'm getting impaled.

And yes, for the girly-girl in me, I want eyeliner and for the love of Pete, eyeshadow that doesn't go from not-noticeable to neon hooker.  I always just left off the eyeshadow.  It was just too frustrating.  (Until mods, thank you Pineapple and Bridella.)

Ugh, definitely! That's one of the reasons most Hawkes look the same >_<

Maybe I'm crazy for saying this but I wish they would completely redo the CC and not just improve the former DA and ME one. I want a CC like The Sims 3, Saints Row(and the characters are voiced in this so it's attainable), Dragon's Dogma, etc...I hate how the most story and character driven games with the most personality and roleplay have one of the worst CC with the least customization options.

I want to be able to micromanage my faces(if not my bodies) as much as I want from the tilt of the eyes to the shape, expression, and width of the mouth (all individually controlled) to the angle of the nostrils, etc...and I don't want to be restricted. Will this allow for people to make crazy alien looking characters? Yes, but who cares? It will also let me and others serious about character creation make anyone they want to down to the tiniest detail.
