I so hope you're right! It was amazing what the modding community did with ME3 (hairstyles, skins, make-up etc), so perhaps they'll find a way to mod some aspects of DA:I.

I still haven't figured out how to do this properly. I managed to get Origins off my back with the Texmod name-change .bat thing, but now ME crashes on load. Even after I vanilla'd the game again. *sigh* I will have to pull out a Sunday for this. Because...I want glamorous hair, a version of Samara's armor and a better ending. :crying:

So I hope if they do manage to make mods, they won't be as hard to use. Because at this point, ME3 mods are giving me a headache.

Ugh. I don't see what's so bad about modding a game, Bethesda has allowed FULL modding and they do just fine, plus it makes the game x100 times more interesting and fun and makes people wanting to play more.

Ah, EA... i'll never understand you.

Exactly. I sometimes venture to nexus to see if there's anything new and if there is I'm more likely to play again.

I'm more intrested into whether our helmets will magically grow holes for our horns if we equip them.

Perhaps we'll be lucky and they'll run out of helmets.

*snicker*

Anyway, perhaps Qunari only get circlets or some kind of horn friendly head-gear like Salit had in MotA.

Bethesda's also held back a long needed engine change in favor of slapping patches on the same old clunker they've been running so they don't have to make a new construction set. If I'm EA, my priority is putting out the best game I can on all five platforms, not putting huge chunks of time into something only one out of five can use.

I'd like some more varied hair, hopefully shoulder lenght hair and curls, I mean the lady of the forest has fabulous silky black tresses and I was so jealous.

I want Morrigan & Velanna's hair to be included for once, it was so stylish and chic, I don't know why it was never included.

Also some choices regarding body type would be appreciated, I would love to be able to play as a muscled elf or a sleek human.

And please ... some decent looking long hair for males!!

It's either curly, braided or draped around the face like a curtain ... with the last option looking overall horrible.

Some simply long hair, running over the shoulders and down the back, without having the exactly same long bangs on each side of the face.

Well ... I can dream ....

With the Frostbite engine, toolkits for modding is something they would specifically have to take the time to create, and I'd rather they spend that time on the game itself. Perhaps after the game is released, though.

I believe that a toolkit would expand life of a game significantly. In the end it would paid of for them. Look at DA:O and how many people still playing in it. Not to mention that game with mods it's better.

I'm not saying that it has to be released when game is released. My first playtrough is always without mods anyway. But I hope they'll really consider something to easy the job for modders.

I'm a purely console gamer, and I'm still constantly playing Origins. Modding isn't what keeps gamers going. It's the game itself. That being said, I don't mind if PC players get a toolkit for modding. I prefer to play the game that Bioware released. If I even considered mods, it would be to add hairstyles and eye colors. That's it. I wouldn't do anything with the skin or hair colors of companions. That's just my opinion. I know others thrive on mods.

Modding increases the longevity of a game, regardless of what you may think. It's not something a game "needs" but it adds value to it. Also, it's not there to just change skin color or hair color of companions, that's very close minded if you think modding just adds fancy colors to the game. If proper tools are provided, people can change meshes in the game, add HQ textures, create new environments, better lighting effects, better looking terrain and plants, creatures difficulty and looks, and much much more, you name it. It's not just there to "mess around" for people, as some people like to think.

If Bioware did not think modding added value to the game, they wouldn't have added the toolkit for DA:O, and keep the mod support going for DA 2. Bottom line, there's no need for this argument between PC players and console players whether modding is worth it. It's worth it to us. It's not the PC users' fault if your platform isn't as accessible as ours, that's the advantage we get.

Yeeeeesss... or even decent looking short hair!! You know oddly I couldn't even find a good mod for male hair for DAO. Unless I wanted my Warden to look like an Anime character... which I did NOT. :P

I just hope the game will be so good that it'll be a while before anyone starts wishing for mods. Some of my favorite mods are additions to the CC, better romances, expanded inventory, respec, those sorts of things (and lock bash though I haven't GOTTEN IT TO WORK  ). Hopefully DAI will already be polished in a way DAO wasn't.

A lot of people wouldn't play DA:O so often if they couldn't use mods.

You don't want them because you never used them but perpective changes when you start using mods. First is one/two mod and after that you want to try more. :) I'm glad that you're not one of console players who are saying that if they don't have mods no one will have them. xd

DAI propably will be great game but there is always something what modders can add to make it fantastic. More armors, hairstyles there always can be more of those kind of things.

Was there any really useful DA:O mods? When i checked DA Nexus all the top rated mods were sexual in nature like making the sex scenes fully hardcore & female armour that made characters naked apart from having boots, gloves, shoulder pads etc.

Lol. Essential for some I guess...

I've downloaded quite a few small ones that have impacted my gameplay dramatically, such as bigger backpack, storage chest, skip the fade, respec ability so you're not stuck with a horrible build if you screw up... My new favorite is the Ser Gilmore companion which adds a whole new reason to replay the game.

So, essential? Not for a first playthrough. But for subsequent ones, maybe.

Don't write things like this because it's not true and everyone can check it on their own. Of course mods like you mentioned are on this site but that's maybe 20% of all mods.

Add bug fixes and some armors*Wardens,Dalish and Sacred Ashes* and I agree, a lot of those "glamour" mods look unnatural and creepy to me and those new quest-lines and companions people make are usually buggy and potentially game breaking.

It's confirmed that there very likely will be something like the Black Emporium to allow you to do that.

More choices in CC are always good.  It would be awesome if they allowed some body adjustment in DAI, allowing for things like my Arisen that looked like Hurley with dreadlocks....

You know what I would like to see?  A preview area where you can walk around and see your character as (s)he would appear in the game.  Maybe a literal dressing room where you can walk up to a mirror to make further changes to your character's appearance and then walk out the door when you're ready to start the game proper.

Oh my yeeeeeesss!!! I've never thought of that... that's a great idea! So you can without a doubt see what your character will look like once the game starts.

When I discovered the additional hair styles and face presets mods for DAO, I felt like I had hit the jackpot.

I assume DAI's character creator (like all other features) is going to be vastly improved... Okay I've learned that it can't be as vast as the one in Dragon's Dogma, but more hair styles, colors, and good-looking facial presets would be awesome!

True... too true.

I don't understand why the developers sem not to be able to get that right. Even DA2 it was the same.

Took forever to make my char not look ugly as sh**... and still wasn't satisfied.

GOD THANK for those modders...  personally hope for a modding kit for DAI. Anything that makes it easier... and maybe leads to a few great mod-campaigns.

After all, we see what's possible with Skyrim..

No Gays for me - thank you.

It should be possible, to make your Avatar look like you want without something like that... and like i said, modders made that possible.

All i ask for ist that the developers take some lessons from those guys.
