I was thinking it would be nice if there was a group of testers you could go to, when your project nears completion. I have often seen in the forums, people posting for testers, and getting only one or maybe two replys. I don't think that is enough to insure there are no bugs before release.

 

Would any one be interested in forming a group of builder/testers? I promise to test yours if you test mine sort of thing? It would be nice to have some trusted opinions, from people who understand the limitations and possibilities of the toolset.

 

Of course, some projects are quick and easy, a few hours, and some are massive campaigns. Some people are here for a while then gone, or busy, but hopefully things will balance out in the wash. Just do what you can.

...wouldn't it be nice if you knew you could get 3-5 testers for your project when the time came?

p.s.- this has absolutly nothing to do with my project being ready for testing

I'm not saying that modules have many testers, but in my experience, these sorts of "recruitments" are often made through private messages, so sometimes there may be more testers than what you see in the public thread.

Well, I'm not a toolset user, but I've tested a number of modules before and I don't think that's a requirement. Anyway, I'm not making any promises (and the "I test yours, you test mine" type of deal won't work in my case), but feel free to count me in if a guild is made.

It is true that sometimes it's private. I have tested only two myself, but were both private deals. But if such a thing as you suggest would be pulled off it would be good for one reason. I almost never go to the general discussion forums, and when I do I see names I never saw in the building forums. So people are still hot about playing this game's modules, maybe even testing. But as I don't go to the general forums, maybe they also don't come to the building forums or modules subforum, Maybe a guild would bring these sides together I say.
