Why so much "no equipment in Gold"?  I can solo Gold with no equip! What's the big deal? That being said, I usually throw my lvl 1 stuff on for Gold PUGs.

 

Also, stop caring what other people use. My gawd!

 

I do hate laggy hosts though...  Having throw pass through a possessed abomination and launch it towards you is pretty...not fun.

Equipment increases clearance times and if a lobby is equipped it's just rude to not follow suit.

 

I figure if someone doesn't use equipment they will likely leave when they die repeatedly or be a deadweight leech the whole game. Sometimes I don't care, others I would just assume wait and get someone in that shows they care about playing at that difficulty. If someone wrecks face in the first game I don't give a damn what they do from then on.

Equipment is one of the three points of character building.

Plus not using any shows a lack of commitment - most PUGs that quit games I'm in never geared up, so with nothing to lose they were more inclined to bug out.

Because people who don't equip almost always suck.

This.  I love games where the other players are still learning the ropes and are trying hard in spite of not having any good equipment.

If you're playing with friends who know that you are OK doing Gold with no equipment, then fine - don't use equipment.  But if you're a PUG, I don't know you from any other PUG.  In that situation, putting on no equipment tells me that maybe you're a leecher who is also not going to do things like use Gels, Ops Packs, and missiles when necessary.

People with Explosive ammo equipped in gold lobbies.

I mean, I'm not against them, but they should use them in platinum matches, Explosive rounds are too powerful for gold!

Explosive rounds are so useless...i'll usually equip them for silver matches just to see what damage they do and even with that i'll qeuip exposive ammo III, which barely does any damage. I'm scared to see what type of damage (if any) explosive ammo Ior II does...
