I don't hate this because I'm guilty of not speccing for Gold with consumables (I usually do OK anyways) but when I see people in Bronze and Silver with full consumables slots I don't really get why you'd use all that stuff. I guess if you wanted to burn the stuff off it'd be fine it's just seeing people with higher N7 ranks than me using full slots on Silver or even Bronze while I'm grinding up after a promotion it seems a bit... Odd.

If it's Lv I-II stuff, you may as well use them somewhere.

 

If it's Lv III-IV stuff... queued for Gold and got dropped into Silver? Happens to me a lot...

Oh, I've even seen Cyclonic IV and Incendiary IV on Bronze.    Assuming that they don't have completely ridiculous manifests because they'd spent a gazillion credits from a hacked game, they're probably just doing the "200 waves with this character" sorts of challenges and trying to make those go as fast as possible as easily as possible, since those challenges don't care whether those waves are Bronze or Platinum.

I never really saw the point in that - you're better doing the 200 waves on gold (platinum if you prefer that) as, if you're going for Challenge Points anyway, you may as well clock off some more Map Mastery points while you're at it.

 

Considerably less boring too.

 

The only exceptions I guess are if you're trying for grabs or Guardians - things that require lots of mooks or specific enemies that don't spawn much on higher difficulties.
