I was just thinking that when Bioware announces the next Mass Effect it would be awsoe if they could bring back the weekend challenges, I think it would be a good marketing technique and it would make me so happy anyone else agree

I wish they would.  I kind of dropped out of ME3 multiplayer when the weekend challenges stopped.  I still pop in from time to time to play, but most of the people I regularly played with felt the same and they aren't around anymore either.  I didn't care about the individual challenges to use X gun or survive on my own on platinum (I'm pretty good but I'm definitely not THAT good).

At the same time, I doubt they'll promo ME3 at all pre-ME4, or whatever it's called.  They've repeatedly tried to make it clear that the next installment of the franchise won't have much if anything to do with the original trilogy.

They might have ended the multiplayer weekends because of technical issues, I know I had issues with my "entitlements" for the game because I had earned too many.

I also agree with Brass_Buckles that I would think its unlikely with how they want to distance the new game from the previous trilogy, but I would start playing again if it did happen.

I think they ended because they didn't thought before release that the MP would be so successful, so they already has planned a one year support cycle for it and wasn't able to extend it once they saw the MP was a huge success.

I think they will bring it back some weeks before the next ME release. Even if the next game will have little to do with the trilogy, MP is different, it's more about gameplay than anything else, so how much the story of the next game have to do with the trilogy has little effect on the MP. Some MP events on ME3 is a good way to bring some of the community back, hype them for the next ME MP.

Since they re-released the game in trilogy form, they could give us another chance to try the challenges.

I would appreciate that.
