Doing first play-through in years...and, first time as a smart a$$ Hawke. I must say, I missed out. The game is so much better than I remember with him cracking jokes everywhere...

Since you mention that, I might do a playthrough after I finish my ME3 playthrough

YES. Smart a$$ Hawke is what hooked me on DA2. SO HILARIOUS.

Wow, you really did miss out. Sarcastic Hawke is definitely one of the best things out of DA2. I hope you have the story DLCs because Sarcastic Hawke has some real good jokes in there.

Ditto.
I have to ask, is this monologue heard when going solo and clicking on, uh, Hawke?

My favourite one was when you saved Aveline's colleague in the street and found evidence for framing an important person. Then you could have Hawke saying something like : 'He lied and sold information to ennemies. This man needs to be in government !'

You have to solo the Act II quest "Following the Qun". Once you leave the Chantry at the end, Hawke plows straight into her monologue.

Thanks for that information. I will do that when I finish my DAO playthrough.

Snarky!hawke might be my favourite game protagonist of all time. I didn't use snarky responses all the time, but it was the dominant voice. She came off very interesting, sympathetic and human. I was pleasantly surprised.

Sassy Hawke is the only way to enjoy DA2. I tried the other personalities as well and i could barely finish the game.
Having Varric, Isabela (i call them with Hawke 'the sassy trio') and Aveline in your party is all the money. ![]()

Friendly Carver is pretty fun too. I loved his Legacy/MOTA dialogue. "Look at these guys. Arr. Would yer like me to swab yer poop deck, matey?"

That's incomplete. You have to side with Ser Varnel (means you have to be aggressive), then afterwards when you leave the chantry solo (this is when Petrice gets kicked out) you have to be humorous. So you'll need a personality change in-between.

That's incorrect. I didn't side with Varnell, and I still got the monologue. Your Hawke has to be the humorous type, and they have to solo the angry mob in the Chantry though.

I'm currently doing a sarcastic playthrough. I finished talking with Emeric in Darktown and got a good laugh from that.

I am playing male mage Hawke and found a good bit of his exchanges with Varric to be awesome. I usually ran with Aveline, Varric and Isabella. Although, Anders and Varric have some good back and forth. Romanced Isabella as I felt that perfectly fit snarky Hawke. I have all the DLC, too. I love when he complains about everyone always having problems. **summons demon** "Of COURSE I would summon another demon..."
I must say that I did cheat a bit to test out all the spells and items. I maxed out my spells early on and set the game on Nightmare. It was pretty funny being a blood/force mage and pretty much destroying every battle.

lol I didn't see that! Thanks!
Cheeky Hawke definitely made it fun to play. I wasn't so good at DAII and didn't upgrade pass Lvl 20 before hitting the last mission. Hawke's comment on Orsino and Meredith arguing like a couple definitely ease the nervousness. You have to say though, not best time to joke around heh.

The humorous personality is definitely my favorite. I just don't enjoy it as much with either aggressive or diplomatic, though I save the former for my jerk bloodmage M!Hawke.

I must be the only one who found sarcastic Hawke totally not funny at all. I thought he was corny. "I wanna be dragon!"

He does go a bit overboard with the humour in places. Like, "I don't do anything involving animals or children."
It's a coping mechanism.

"I wanna be a dragon!" is just the option on the wheel, not what Hawke actually says.
