It could be an interesting thing to explore the rest of the world. Though there is a lot left in Thedas that we haven't seen yet. We know, for example that the Qunari originated somewhere across the ocean. Discovering their origins and the reason for the migration could be a good story. And exploration doesn't necessarily have to go hand in hand with conquest and colonialism. Just because that's how it happened in the real world doesn't mean it has to play out that way in a game.
