I just tried the Repeater Gloves on Leliana for the first time and to me she was slower and did less damage than without them. Is my game different than everyone elses? I'm using falon dins reach.

I just looked this up. I guess you can't really "see" the difference. ~~Aim time cannot be less than zero, so further aim time reduction will not normally be seen when used with other effects. The effects do stack, however, and can be seen by stacking 0.2s and 0.3s Rapid Aim items when using Aim.

I only use these gloves if I have a mage with haste. There is a bug where haste makes the archer go slower. The repeater gloves is a work around for this bug. I only use haste if I'm a warrior class.

Oh, I didn't use Aim. Whoops. I'll have to start up an archer someday but it will be awhile. I want to do couple more characters before that.

Seems something like Nocebo effect to me. Since you weren't using aim and Falon'Din's has Rapid Aim, you were already attacking with the shortest base duration of 1.6 s as Luna mentioned. You are expecting an improvement over that with the Repeater Gloves, but as it's not to be, it appeared to you instead as if it's actually reducing speed and damage. It cannot be unless you replaced something like the Red Jenny Seekers, the Gloves of Guile et al with the Repeater Gloves. I'm just speculating. :)

@luna1124 - It is very fun. But care needs to be taken that the speed bonus is not allowed to increase further by using talents like momentum and blood thirst. Attack speed resets to default otherwise. There are unofficial fixes for the PC though.

Luna, double haste is fun. The limit is 50%. The two haste is max. Momentum and haste is over the limit.

In Awakening do you use Repeater gloves Aim and Accuracy?

^I only use Accuracy in awakening. There are better light gloves like the Fingers of the Nimble and the Slippery Ferret's Gloves.

Blazomancer,

"I only use Accuracy in awakening. There are better light gloves like the Fingers of the Nimble and the Slippery Ferret's Gloves."

I like these but if your running haste don't you have to worry about the haste archery bug?

Ranged attack speed bug

Haste and Swift Salve slow down aim speed, increasing animation length by +0.8s and +0.9s, respectively. Sadly, this bug is not patched as of v. 1.03. This is the relevant script:
// spell_constants_h const float HASTE_AIM_SPEED_MODIFIER = 0.8f;
// spell_modal
eEffects[3] = EffectModifyProperty(PROPERTY_ATTRIBUTE_RANGED_AIM_SPEED, HASTE_AIM_SPEED_MODIFIER, PROPERTY_ATTRIBUTE_ATTACK, -5.0f);

A workaround of sorts exists, effectively allowing your party melee attackers to benefit from Haste without making archers useless: Shale's Rock Mastery aura, especially in a duplicated form, overrides any aim speed penalties (-2.0s/4.0s aim speed modifier will offset almost any combination of penalties).

Note: Icon ps3,Icon xbox360: Rock Mastery is bugged and increases aim speed rather than reduce it.
Another viable option is equipping Repeater Gloves, which grant a Rapid Aim bonus of -3.0s aim speed.

Is this bug only the AIM talent? I thought it was Aim in general. If just the aim talent then that is excellent because Accuracy is so much better.

I just clicked on the video found on the Wiki dragon age page. It does seem like this bug was for the AIM talent and not all archery talents.

Thanks Blazomancer

Okay I just tried using Aim and Repeater Gloves and it doesn't seem to make any difference. Leliana is still doing minimal damage and she's slowed down a bit. I'm using a Rapid Aim longbow that I got for 60 silver, I think. I guess her hit rate is way up though so I guess it's worth it a little so I suppose I'll keep the Repeater Gloves and Aim for now.

I don't like Repeater Gloves.  I think I will go back to no gloves again.  My hit rate will go down again but I feel like I get better damage and speed.  Of course I haven't really compared the two.

Once I get Leliana's dexterity up I give her Marjolaine's Recurve. She kicks a** with that when I have her use it. I replace the repeater gloves with gloves that give Leliana more dexterity

Edit see Blazomancer. I did use Sorrow of Arlathan. Thanks for clarification.

^Actually, Haste does add 0.8 s to AimTime in all cases. Are you perchance using the Sorrows of Arlathan? The Rapid Aim property in that longbow reduces aim time by 1.0 s, effectively making the Haste bug seem non-existent, but it's still in effect.
