Not sure if this is the right forum, since there's not a fan art/etc forum for Inquisition yet, but seeing as this is more related to the Resolutionists and Red Templars, I figured I should put it in the closest Inquisition forum. Mods, please move if it's in the wrong place.

So, I love the art of propaganda (though not so much propaganda itself). I am an unabashed geek. I love it when my geeky interests and propaganda art meet.

I'm also a graphic designer and illustrator by trade.

So, it was inevitable that these happen:

resolutionist_propaganda_poster_by_holly

red_templar_propaganda_poster_by_hollych

Something to help find an outlet for my anticipaction for fall. :)

That's pretty cool, actually- did you make those yourself? And do you take requests?

Yeah same for me for both questions.

I did, in my free time between both my graphic designer jobs. Just finished the templar one today, in fact. :)

And no, I don't generally do requests, sorry. Art and graphics are how I make my living, and between work, personal projects, and games, I don't have a lot of time to draw for me. On the rare occasion I do requests, I'll announce it.

I have other Dragon Age artwork from Origins and DA2 (mostly Origins), as well as Mass Effect. Most of my fan art can be found on my deviantART site, though I also have a professional portfolio.

Hm, if I were to make a propoganda poster...

I think I'd aim to subvert American cultural tendencies.

Imagine, if you will, a mage looking at the viewer, reaching out and grabbing a hand (the viewers'). The top of the poster says 'They say the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with blood."

Then, as you look down, you realize the mage is gripping the hand in a grip to not let go, and is holding a knife with a blood drip above the captive palm.

The bottom would say "Their liberty. Your blood."

Another would be a silouhette of Kirkwall, and the explosion of the the Chantry. Figures below would look in fear as debris rains down on them. In the background, Anders (with justice-lines of glowing) is a mage sillouhette.

"Those who would sacrifice the security of others for their own freedom deserve neither. Remember Kirkwall."

Dalish!  You still exist!

I love the posters, they're very 1940s in tone.  Although the aged look definitely puts me in mind of Fallout...

Really great design and color pallet there.

Hahaha, I do! :D I just tend to lurk more than post, and I haven't done a lot of fan art lately due to my job(s) and working on a tabletop RPG setting.

Thanks. :) I definitely went more in a sort of art-deco approach, and for colors I looked at a lot of Soviet posters for the mages' palette, and I can't remember the precise posters for the second... I knew I wanted a warm/cool contrast, so I made a point to look up posters more blue and purple in tone for the templars.

Sorry, missed this earlier. Those are great ideas for posters! Bit more elaborate than I have time to chew into on my own, but wouldn't mind seeing somebody tackle them.

Aw, thanks. :D If you want a version of the top half that better fits your resolution, I can save you a copy.

Thanks guys. :) Not quite on topic I suppose, but I don't want to spam the forum, so I"ll share these here:

While I was making these posters, I also made vectors of several crests and symbols found in the Dragon Age series, as well as vectors of the game titles. Figure they might be a handy resource for other fan artists, or for anyone who might want to make themselves a DA theme button, sticker, etc.

Note: Some symbols will be hard to see on here, as they're near-white by design, such as the Inquisition and Seeker crests.
