So, I have this horrible, evil, head canon about our boy Anders...

I picture him as the Dragon Age series Anakin Skywalker.

Awakenings is Anders' not so happy go lucky pod racing slave days, when he finds his freedom at the cost of becoming a jedi Grey Warden.

Dragon Age II is the slow descent into trying to make things better. Falling in love, making friends, doing good. Embracing that Spirit of Justice and leaning on that spirit's power to help mages. But then Revenge of the Sith Act III happens really it's just gonna end with him and torching a Temple Chantry full of people.

So... basically... I have this glorious dream of Anders going full Dark Side and he and the newly minted Vengeance demon going tearing across Thedas and wreaking havoc all so it can end in his redemption.

Probably wouldn't happen, but I totally see the parallels between the fall of Anakin and Anders. Or maybe I am too much of a giant nerd.

I want to say no as its pretty much confirmed, dead Anders will stay dead.  Though the same hasn't been said about Justice, but its unlikely he's going to do anything other than continue his downward spiral towards demon.

Anders more or less steps back from the brink on friendship, so I don't think this'll happen.

"Inquisitor I am your father!"

"No that's not possible!"

"Search your feelings you know it be true!"

"...I'm an elf"

"Oh..."

Leliana was also supposed to die and we saw how well that turned out. LOL.

But the spirit of Justice could've healed a dead Anders like Faith healed Wynne.

Until something else pisses him and/or Justice off...

Except Leliana's story is not over, and when she 'died' she was within reach of Andraste's ashes. Anders has neither of those to back him, plus he already got his revive after Awakening since he could die in there.

If Vengeance revives Ander's corpse, all Anders is now is an Arcane Horror thus should be put down on sight.

The thing that was driving Justice nuts for seven years is now finally finished. Anders should have a lot more stability from this point on.

The Templars and Chantry still exist.

That would be more of a beginning, I think.

Wynne got more than one revive, didn't she? As long as his spirit hadn't left the body and entered the Fade, he would totally be revivable.

Also, I'm not saying it is an ideal end for Anders. I love him to bits, but Maker... the writing and drama that could come from all that... I imagine all the possibilities.  A companion turned villain and poor Varric would know him. It makes me sad thinking about it and I want it to happen so bad. =p

Well still, in the playthrough were he didn't die, I wonder if they'll give him a nod of a cameo or just let him be all together.

I guess this is up to the writers on how a surviving Anders is handled, but until the war is resolved, I don't really see how he could be stable.

What drama?...I'll just stab him again.

And Justice no longer has to wait around to fight them.

Well enough to not screw over the people who romanced him, I think.

It is something that Varric doesn't cover in the Epilogue but he wouldn't know what happened to him.

And honestly it would be interesting to have SOMETHING happening to an ex-companion that isn't all sunshine and rainbows. With the exception of Drunk Alistair all the cameos in Dragon Age II were all, "Hi, I don't know you, but I am awesome and still kicking butt!" Things don't always go that way.

But when they don't, it pisses people off for... well, very little gain.

Fairly sure it came from Gaider or one of the other important people that dead Anders was dead.  Forget where it was but I think it was a thread disscussing Anders returning in Inquisition.

I remember reading on his blog that he and the other writers "had plans" for Anders that may still see the light of day.

I'd love this but I also don't want the anti-anders people to have an aneurysm

I'm not Anti-Anders by any stretch, I just feel like his story is done.
