I killed Anders in every playthrough for various reasons, but here are my top three:

1. He's a murderer.

2. He's proven that he is an abomination.

3. I like Sebastian more.

Well thats characteristic that every companion share including pc at least in da 2.

Wouldn't mind seeing him leading a small force within the mage resistance or as a simple healer in one of their holdouts.

I'd prefer for Anders to go to Rivain so that the seers can help him understand his symbiosis with Justice. They have a tradition of merging with spirits that dates back a millennia, so they might be the best option he has to gain mastery over himself.

As for my run and the mage rebellion, Anders already encouraged my apostate Champion to be a leader to the mages, one they've waited "centuries for".  :D

Wait, you want him to do it again? Is that correct?

My #1:

1. He put Bethany in terrible danger and inadvertedly killed her (if not for Hawke) - when she wasn't brought along to the Deep Roads, of course.

Wait what?  I have yet to do a runthrough where I left Bethany behind so I have no clue what happens on that path so to speak.

I hated him in DA2 but could never bring myself to kill him for some reason. Probably because I hated Sebastian more.

I liked him a good deal, but I couldn't bring myself to let him live. Once I almost told him to leave, but then Sebastian got grumpy and I said "Screw it".

Its his headcanon. Anders does not put Bethany in any danger. In fact if Hawke sides with mages She is quite willing to kill Templars.

If you don't take her, she goes to the Circle. And six years later his actions cause Meredith to enact the RoA on that Circle, putting Bethany in danger.

No. If Bethany isn't brought to the Deep Roads she joins the circle. Meredith invokes the Right of Annulment right after Anders blows up the Chantry. Bethany is in the Circle. See it?

Yeah, my 'canon' Hawke killed him. Not because she's pro-Chantry: she supported his case. But for reason stated above.

Well I was responding to your.... ethics, let's say. About him blowing up another Chantry. Though I wouldn't call it 'complaining'.

So? Bethany doesn't seem to mind being free from circle and more than willing to kill Templars for it when you side with mages. Meredith is invoking the right therefore its she who is putting Bethany in danger. Meredith is condemning all mages for a crime they did not commit. Other people have valid reasons but your sense of Justice is laughable if you only killed Anders because he "put Bethany in dander". No offense of course.

Is it really? Because I could less about both the mages and templars in DA2 other than Bethany

Yes, how dare Hawke put their family first. How terrible of them.

In normal circumstance what Anders did wouldn't put Bethany in danger. The apostate responsible would be punished. But Meredith decides all mages must die for it therefore its completely on her not Anders. I was pointing out this. Anyone putting Bethany in danger would get my murder knife too but its not Anders, its Meredith.

Which is why my Hawke was "scream ******, scream" during Meredith's death scene. The person who put Bethany in danger.

Why he shouldn't do that again when he did it once already? You killed him so you won't have to care about it unless justice will do it.

Oh, I thought you meant Anders was a moron and left a list of apostates laying around or some **** which got your sister outed.

Sorry, in my view Anders deserves just as much blame. He knew how Meredith would react and played her into doing exactly what she did.

My Hawke was all about family. Devastated as she was by the deaths of Carver and Leandra, I roleplayed her to be extremely protective of Bethany. 'Family above all'. Of course she saw Meredith was dangerous and that she would one day completely go nuts. So she favored the mage side, and supported Anders' case. But then he ble up the Chantry. And all Meredith said before invoking the Right was:

"The Grand Cleric has been killed. By magic."

Anders was the final push towards invoking Annulment, And yes, Meredith gave the final word. So Hawke sided with the mages, of course. And then rushed to the Gallows to save Bethany, but not before killing Anders. He gave the final push. Anders. Not Meredith. Despite how nuts she was. At that moment, he put Bethany in danger and put the fate of Hawke's family in jeopardy.
