Will the special kill-moves from DA:Origins be implemented on DA:Inquisition? I really missed those on DA2
Here's hoping that the devs would implement it

The most satisfying kill move ever:
Dual Wield
Stab mook with one weapon
Decapitate mook with second weapon
I prefer sword and shield combat, but that killmove right there gives me gore fuzzies.
Anyway, I'm not sure how kill moves would work in a no-regen environment. If anything they'd be limited to last unit alive or special monsters.
Even then, doubtful.
I'd like to see class specific killer moves.
Me too, mages never had the luxury of that kind of awesomeness. Except for the Mother boss fight on Awakening. Watching my Mage fry her with electricity is incredibly satisfying.

For a Mage I'd like to do what yavana did to Claudio. Incinerate the enemy into ash!The most satisfying kill move ever:

Almost every time I got a kill animation it was synced wrong and/or in the wrong direction. If those issues could be solved, I'm all for it.
So long as I can do what I always do, and tap the space bar repeatedly so that it plays out in a kind of slow motion.
Naaaah, gaming isn't a weird hobby at all!

I missed that too!

I also want free camera to make awesome screenshots ![]()
Also please, keep the HUD hiding feature!

Love to see this . Skyrim had some good ones .

Based on this screenshot, it seems they have implemented the kill moves. Just look at that sword-stab form. Glorious
Would definitely like to see a return of the killing blows from DAO.
If I recall, I believe someone from Bioware commented in a thread about this topic a long time ago. They were saying that if it did come back, it would probably be in the form of only happening against the last enemy standing. I guess this was because people complained about not being able to control that party member while he/she performed the finishing blow.
While I kind of agree that the fatalities vs the larger beasts (dragons/ogres) were a little bit drawn out, I thought the fatalities vs the man sized enemies were awesome. Not being able to control a specific character during those short animations never really bothered me, personally.
If they do decide to keep it the way it was in DAO, why not add a beneficial mechanic to the combat system? For example, I used to play Age of Conan, and in that game, when you performed a fatality, it would give your entire party a team wide buff that regenerated your stamina/mana for a short period of time. So, while you would lose control of your character during the fatality animation, the trade off would be worth it.
Maybe they can also add specific talents/skills that pertain to fatalities. For example, the Assassin tree could have a talent that would increase your fatality chance by a passive amount, or maybe an ability that you activate that increases your fatality chance to 100 percent for a short amount of time. Whatever, just kind of spitballing ideas here.
They should also have it where your last remaining party member is susceptible to meeting the same fate. This would allow them to go all out with some crazy kill animations for the more monstrous beasts. If you lose to a dragon, for example, you might find your last party member being gobbled up whole. I mean, who wouldn't want to see that? lol
Either way, definitely hoping that screenshot above is an indication that they are back. Whether they go the DAO route and have it happen during combat or they go the other way and only have it happen at the end of combat, I just want to see what cool animations they can come up with.

Those are some pretty neat ideas. Hopefully the devs will see your post.
I recall the first time I fought a high dragon on DA2 that Fenris got all gobbled up by the dragon, making him the dragon's chew tow - killing him in the process. I was laughing all the way through the animation. It didn't bother me at all, because I have the revival potion thingy. Also, back on DA:O, my human noble is in tandem with Alistair killing darkspawn. It was pretty awesome when they get to kill enemies at the same time while doing the kill-moves.

I love that enchanted sword.
Me too, main reason why I'm torn on playing a Human Mage or a Human Warrior. But, I would most likely play the game as a mage first. Then warrior, and then a Qunari. Thinking about it, each race needs to have a different kill animation. Mainly because of their race, they have their own fighting styles(or at least I think they should/do), but that's just me, I guess.

Warrior has always been my least favorite class, but that picture is just mmmmmagical. ![]()
I never noticed the kill animations in DAO until I started playing on PC. They really add that extra little of awesomeness.

That way my Mage inquisitor/s will be pretty kick bum because I know which spells to focus on and what to avoid.
I've been a Mage since Origins, so I don't really have a problem experiencing the spells first hand with my character. Besides, I'm pretty sure there would be a respec potion or something, so that I could experiment on it. Also, being a mage on the first time would allow me to experience how soft mages would be; which would somehow give me an advantage when I become a warrior because I'm used on a low health character.

I love a good kill animation. One of my favorites is the throat cutting animation in Skyrim, when you successfully sneak up behind someone and slit their throat... so cool. As long as the animations are simple and don't take too long to complete, then I like them. But that animation in DAO, where the person who executes the ogre ssssllllloooowwwlllyyy jumps up and eventually stabs the ogre in the head, took too much time to complete, and sometimes looked really silly.
I agree. Animation kills can be pretty cool. I liked the throat cutting in Skyrim. Not so much when you hopped on a dragon and gave him a shave on the side of his face. I do like it when they're quick and neat looking.
No killing, we already have enough violence. Better make more nice animations. How about hugs for everyone.

I suppose our characters should just dance along with the demons of the fade and other enemies, no? AHAhaha

Excellent idea. We could hug our way around Thedas, and should anyone refuse our huggy advances, we shall hug them to death! Muhahahahaha! No killing, we already have enough violence. Better make more nice animations. How about hugs for everyone.
