I know this may be more of a scripting question, but it seems you guys in here have a pretty good handle on how the creature models work. and interact with the game.
So here is my problem. I am doing my own shapeshifting and its working fine. The player has a bunch of creatures they can shift into. The problem I am hitting is I give say the steel golem lightning spells, the spells wont fire at all. You click them and get the targeting but the spell does nothing after that. No mana cost no cooldown. The difference is the Arcane horror, and the human guard model are able to cast spells just fine. Nothing is really sticking out to me in APR_base.xls that would explain the difference. This also seems to be the same for talents. Like giving an ogre the golem slam talent also does not work.
What I am figuring is certain spells and talents have an animation and if the model does not support that animation the effect wont fire (nor is there an error on screen). Maybe if I turn off the caster animation on some spells they will work on anything? I am willing to try different things, but I was wondering if anybody had the correct answer before I go and experiment.
Thanks for your help!

After testing it out it is definetly an animation issue. The castanim field in ABI_Base is the only thing I needed to change to allow a golem to cast chain lightning. The strange thing is if you do this it doesnt seem to respect the cooldown for the spell. The other problem is the spell effect fires, but the visual effect does not (I assume the visual effect for chain lightning is the castanim).
