Unique, Non-Humanoid Character Kits

I would love to see a playable Rachni as a mp character. A kit that doesn't use weapons like the humanoid classes, and most importantly, isn't restricted by having to have the same animation skeleton that the ME 3 kits had. BioWare has proven that ME MP works, so I would like to see them expand on the alien roster, by have actual non-humanoid aliens. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed, playing as my Geth engineer, and my Asari Justicar, but I really would like to play a game as something that is not just a re-skin of the human model.

An insectoid Rachni, the jelly fish-like Hanar, the quadruped Elcor; BioWare please don't be afraid to have non-standard kits as a part of your MP. I realize that animating non-humanoid movement is time consuming, but you will have players get a whole lot more enjoyment out of a kit that is totally different then the human norm.

Crawling over barricades, biting and clawing enemies, spitting acid at distance foes > Running around as a Geth-skined human with one or two new powers.

More Customization, Both in the form of fashion and function.

I would like to have the option to customize not only the color of my character's armor, but also their powers, their facial features; yes this means having the option of no helmets; their armor pieces; complete with varying stats and benefits/drawbacks.

If the SP of the new ME is going to have aliens as a PC, then I would expect to be able to customize my Turian's face, decide whether or not to give him battle scars, or the 'tribal face paint' or to have him wear a visor; thus improving my critical headshot damage. Allow us players to really put ourselves into our characters.

I would also like to be able to mix and match my various armor pieces. Going with a heavy chest plate for more overall health at the expense of inventory space, along with lightweight leg armor for increased movement speed. Things such as this will allow players to play MP in a manner more customized to their respective play styles. With such a mechanic in place, you could; if you wanted to; play as a biotic specced and armored to be more of a supportive tank, then a glass cannon.

Larger Maps, as well as an expansion to environmental hazards.

I would like to see maps at least three times the size of Firebase: Condor, maps that help bring back the massiveness of ME 1 maps; obviously more varied and detailed; but maps that don't feel that they are purposely designed to be gladiatorial arenas. I know it sounds counter intuitive to the MP horde mode formula, but I would prefer a more natural feel to the levels' boundaries.

Regarding the environmental hazards, I think it would be awesome if they were more defining of the level, as well as something that players could plan around. Fore example a level taking place on a space station with several sections being in areas that are exposed to the vacuum of space and/or outside the space station entirely. It would be really immersive if players had to make sure they came to battle as a character that could travel in space freely (Geth) or they would have to make alterations to their characters and make sure they could survive in such environments (putting helmets on, etc.).

It would be even better if such hazards offered a risk vs reward mechanic outside the killing of the enemies on screen. Maybe the outer space sections on the station provide players with quick access to the systems com systems; allowing hacking objectives to proceed faster, provided on member of the party goes out into the cold void.

Those are my biggest wishes for the next ME's MP. I have more, and I may add to my list.

I would love to see an mmo version of mass effect. Let u be apart of the blood pack or the alliance. Have it kind of like skyrim except multiplayer. I think that would be awesome. If not then at lest let us be able to actually customize our characters armor and not just give it a different color.

Skins and patterns for my armor. A big opportunity I think BW missed in ME3 multiplayer was clan skins. And it would have been so easy to slide that into the patterns slot on the customization screen. Instead of just stripe patterns or camo, how about a Blue Suns pattern, or Eclipse, or (and after the Omega DLC a huge opportunity missed here) a Talons skin. Would have added a bit more story involvement and you could even have events structured around it like the community weekend goals where you had to use certain configurations of players to accomplish while being say.. Krogan. This way you could have a merc weekend or even N7 skins. The possibilities are "Mass"ive.

how about a dedicated server instead of the crap EA servers. im tired of getting a notice in the middle of a game that says that i have lost connection to the ea servers. how about another class like elemental, be able to shape the map. any character be able to use grenades. if there is banshees fix there code so they are not teleporting through floors and walls and insta-killing you. no pvp because all there will be is players playing as vanguards or juggernauts or even worse nothing but n7 shadows with a sniper rifle and smg and all they do is shadow strike.

- Instead of a static arena, I'd love to see 5 zones per map and the team advances through the zones after each wave, much like in single player.

- I want to pick a race, then a class, then powers. Sure, there are plenty of options and variety but I'd like to tweak the class comps a bit more.

- Everything else that everyone else has said, like a more stable server environment. I get booted at least once a day.

If you played ME3 MP, you get an exclusive banner in ME4's

No more randomness in the store

An offline mode with computer players

more than only one measley year worth of weekend challenges and stuff. Or at the very least, when Bioware decides to stop supporting me4 mp, have the weekend challenges continue working, but recycling old ones

Maps that change over time. For example, one map could be a fortress you are trying to comandeer. Round one would take place outside the gates, round 2 would be just inside the gates, round 3 would be taking out the AA guns and other heavy weapons systems, round 4 would be taking out the communication systems, etc

A better character customizer, getting ride of the rng system for unlocking cards, and more play modes then just horde.

Please remember that ME4 will probably not involve some ancient race destructing the galaxy and some badass people around the world stop the forces of the ancient race, so don't expect the usual co-op 11 waves mission style multiplayer.

Maybe Mass Effect Multiplayer can the ordinary different game-modes multiplayer like Halo. Of course, the multiplayer will include it's unique features from the Mass Effect franchise (like the armour and the powers).

I am anticipating this, though I will reserve optimism.

And TBH, I want to be a geth shooting down quarians, if Bioware would ever allow that. Not in anger at quarians, but just in the awesomeness of that concept. Just as long as BW doesn't devolve into pure shooter (we likes our leveling, loadouts, items, exploration elements, customization, immersive aspects, etc).

Probably not going to happen but I would like destructive environments and more cooperative multiplayer modes instead of just horde mode with objectives.

Something like that ^ in a Mass Effect setting would be amazing.

I think that better networking goes without saying.

I didn't think I'd ever being saying this... But you know those hack/bypass minigames you had to do in Mass Effect 2 for no reason? Well wouldn't that be really good in multiplayer mode? One person or two people go to hack/bypass the objective(s) while the rest of the squad does a bit of shooting. But literally hacking the console yourself, instead of just holding A and crouching. If you get shot, it won't interrupt the hacking. You would have to press B or something, so if you're right at the end then you can continue.

Play in teams of 4 or in 8, depending on the map.

I want enemies to be able to have multiple objectives to cause you to fail too. This means you can't just run around anywhere, or they'll go for your supplies and you'll fail the mission.

I'd like to see a few powers that don't necessarily affect the enemies by damage only. Like setting up a long-range sensor for when enemies are nearing said supplies to give you enough time to get back before it's too late. Though that could just be part of an improved HUD.

Maps which force your team to spread out in groups of 2, so you don't get flanked. HUD would tell everyone when a Geth Prime etc appears that needs more than 2 people.

More focus on the vertical. Big maps are nice and all, but tall maps are terrifying. It's much harder to move, and you don't get a lot of warning. Collaborating with your team would be a must. Maybe see-through floors. And bring back Lift. Guy on the bottom uses Lift, then the guy on the top uses Slam. Or uses the Disciple. Either way, maps are focussed too heavily on horizontal space.

ME MP is good start, really. Me likey. But since its a topic..

I would like to select different options of MP I choose to play.. the random tasks given starting wave 3 are nothing but a deadly distraction from the main game, which is to survive until extraction. Most of those assignments could be its own objective, say 12 hacks over a wide map with locking doors, unlimited enemies, but no waves. Hack the stuff and you're done.  the hack would more elaborate of course than just holding a button, and a focus on speed and stealth over outlasting. The Co-op part is great, but I want more to options than a horde mode.

Netcode and bug extermination of course. But also, take the ME2 approach to weapon balancing. Have all weapons be useful or more useful against something. IE, ME2 GPR was a shield stripper, the Widow and Eviscerator crushed armour. More unique defenses and powers. Less warp being thrown on kits. Give us some dynamic and old school enemies like Geth Hoppers, Colossus, Creepers, etc. Bring back radioactive and poisonous ammo and defense types. More customization options for character armour and tattoos for aliens.

I really liked the fluid change of combat zone to (relative peacefull) interaction with NPCs and back (or the other way around) ME1 had -like on Feros.

ME2 is missing this, ME3 would have been nearly there sometimes (i.e. on Menae), if we could holster our weapons.

Edit:

I've only now realized that this is the multiplayer thread, ops

I've been thinking this exact thing the other day. In SP, bring back problem solving. Less "drop in and shoot all the things" types of missions.

I would like to see medaels earned as a team effort and not by person. Maybe more people would work togther.

And i would like to see that the Dev´s diden´t make the vangaurds and adept so powerfull when the old charaters dont get an uplift.

Fewer Vangaurds and adepts.

Better controls.

And you should be able to build your own charater up whit the skills.

Better effort to get rid of bugs.

Clearly you've never played MP very long. Infiltrators are still the top tier for the most part, with certain engineers and sentinels right behind.

No more of that card system. I've spent too long trying to unlock the Turian Ghost Infiltrator and upgrade my Cerberus Harrier I (that I got in a Reserves Pack, of all possible Packs). I'd like to see players able to purchase characters from the store for credits/Bioware points.

Ultra-Rare Characters could be worth 300,000 credits / however many Bioware points that converts to, Rares could be 250,000, Uncommons 150,000, Commons 100,000. Could be the same with weapons, with the credits increasing with each upgrade.

That would mean more credits could theoretically be spent trying to get something/someone, but at least then you can actually choose want you want instead of getting frustrated. For example, in ME3, I never wanted the Geth Plasma Shotgun, Collector Particle Rifle, Geth Spitfire or N7 Paladin. But I got them. I never wanted about 75% of the characters I have, eg. Volus Adept, Batarians, Vorcha, N7 Destroyer and N7 Fury. But I got them. The worst part is that I got all of this stuff (I'm sure there's players out there desperately trying to get these same weapons/characters) while trying to get the new characters. I haven't got a single new Turian - not Ghost, Saboteur, Havoc or Cabal - and I think a revamped character/weapon unlock system can fix this frustration I'm sure a lot of players like me are experiencing.
