He has the major handicap of being dead in most peoples' games.

 

And before someone starts moaning about other characters coming back from the dead, I'll note that he's not a major character and doesn't have the benefit of plot armour.

 

Why don't people ask to bring back the Talkative Man from DA2? He was plenty crazy.

Who knows? Perhaps if he is brought back perhaps his past can be explored and former occupations (whether they be of a blacksmithing nature or not) will be revealed?

Since we'll at least being going to Redcliffe, there is a chance we'll see that old coot again.

I'm all up for a Mad Hermit cameo - anything to lend to my theory that he's really Aldenon, and somehow acquired an ageless quality. (And reading over the wiki entry for him, his presence in DA:I might add to the storyline.)

As far as I'm aware, this particular scene was just an easter egg. But, hey, it would be interesting to see the alien baby grown up as a 10 or 11 year old kid.

Maybe he's best friends with some kid around the same age from the wilds with a mom that some think is a witch? Then something happens and they end up enemies! And that kid ends up bald for some reason.

The elven helm you can trade from him is one of my favorite helms. I really hope inquisition has nice helms, DA 2 helms were horrible.
