Confirmed Racial Backgrounds:

Elves: All elves, of all classes, will be Dalish. No City Elves this time around.

Qunari: All qunari will be Vashoth (born/raised outside of the Qun). 

 

So, Bioware... Since you have officially confirmed those two, can you give us something similar for the other races? I'm not asking for explicit details and extensive backstories, just a general sort of vague starting place so we can be thinking about our character choices.

 

Still Unknown:

Humans: Nobility or Peasant? What's the nation of origin for the human PC?

Dwarves: Born-on-the-surface, or outcast? If outcast, Kal Shirok or Orzammar?

 

Also, Mages. Will they simply be Apostates like Hawke (from whatever their race is), or will they be ex-Circle, like the Warden?

Vashoth doesn't necessarily mean born outside of the qun. it just means they don't follow it and don't actively oppose it.

I'm hoping it will be a outcast dwarf, since we're apart of the Cadash House that was thought to be wipe out...

I think the Human Magi is a commoner that will come from the Circle of Ferelden. Just a feeling that I think is possible.

Weren't dwarves confirmed to be surfacer descendents of shales clan? Or am I misremembering?
