This thread is a great example of why women are not more respected in the world. Instead of focusing on the fact that she is a great developer, you focus on her looks and the fact that she is a female.

Great job with the equality standards, fans...

QFT.

I wish they'd shut threads like this down.

It makes the ME fanbase @ BSN and forum look very very creepy. Most of the ME fans are probably normal people who think Norman is good looking but don't make that the very sole point of their observations. But the visibility and desperation of the "I wanna romance Norman" threads may cast everyone in the same weird cast.

I don't know what QFT stands for but you're right. they should shut this down. There's already a Romance Christina Norman thread that was shut down.

well what do you expect from the sexually repressed male fanbase? there is many more of them than female gamers (which is why casey-mance didnt get out of hand like this)

she is the lead gameplay designer and thats apparently the best improvement over ME1, which is a far greater achievement than being apparently hawt. but being hawt is gonna be the foremost thought these monkeys have of her, whether she be lead gameplay designer or the clerk at best buy. thats just how we men are:lol:

still, it not as though these people couldnt stand to keep their private thoughts..private. or hell, maybe even acknowledge her actual skills and achievements, or you know, all those little things that women have that arent appearance based.<_<

it is very difficult for me and the many gamers like me to see the gender we have so little interaction with as being as similar to us as they really are. this is based purely from ignorance, and no amount of common sense will completely override their lack of experience in this particualr field of 'study'.

so yes, i just spent all that time and analysis to basically say these people need to get laid.:D

Threads like this shouldn't exist in my opinion. There is nothing wrong with complimenting someone on their appearence in a brief and polite manner, usually as an aside in a comment actually relating to what they were doing (in this case an ME2 demo). However making a thread like this just leads to arguments, inappropriate comments, troll comments, and general wrongness.

Christina is a great dev and we're lucky to have someone who so is so adept at demoing ME2 for us over these long pre-release months, but lets not get carried away just because you saw what she looked like in 'real life' hey?

Has anyone a actually seen her face? I have never seen her in person doing an interview. All i have seen is Casey and that dude with that snazzy moustache.

You can get 30 minutes of her and Jesse at www.xfire.com/cms/xf_xfss_me2/

Wow, the fish tank is much bigger than I anticipated. I'll have to watch both of those videos later this afternoon.

If I were in Christina's shoes right now I'm not sure if I'd be flattered or freaked out. :)

Christina Noman is an awesome person who developes great games. She is also a beautiful woman. Just because the posters are mentioning one of those qualities and not the others doesn't make the one they are mentioning a back-handed compliment.

An example of a real back-handed compliment would be "she's a great game developer for a woman". Or "she's hot for a girl-gamer"

But I don't think any rational woman would or should get pissed off about someone saying they think they're beautiful...

I don't know, I mean when people compliment me on my professional abilities I don't feel much of anything about it. I know I am good at my job, it's not an objective matter it's a statement of fact. When people tell me I am hot it's still makes me blush it's an observation once can't easily make of themselves and however they don't always believe about themselves.

Nonetheless, perhaps we DON'T need a long winded discussion thread about it but I still don't think it's necessarily a social statement about why women are not more respected, more a reality about the demographic of this industry.

Nonetheless yeah Christine is hot, and Casey is a good looking guy too. I firmly believe those things are always nice for people to hear.

Might I just add I do think that women can be incredibly well versed and great at whay they're doing in the workplace - and look great, too.

As for Christina's paleness, Bioware is based in Edmonton, Canada - in Western Canada.
So no, the sun normally does not come much around those parts...

She is a cute female in the gaming industry. This thread is not the worst she gets, I'm sure.

That said, it still is rather gross feeling to read.

Nonetheless, I appreciate the whole dev crew (except the one who put the nix on same sex romance). Christina, Priestly, Weekes, the one with the mustache, you are all hot to me.

Why does her gender and attractiveness have to be discussed? Can you not appreciate her work as a developer without commenting on what she looks like?

Wow, really? I grew up in Alberta, it's blazing hot in the summer and bloody cold in the winter, but there is always sunlight. It's not the arctic. We don't live in igloos, and we don't have pet polar bears.

I think her paleness is for the same reason any of us are pale, we're gamers and we spend far too much time at work.

I ... think if I were to see a thread like this about myself, I'd feel incredibly creeped out. While not nearly of the same degree, it reminds me of those crazy fangirls who gave Lex Luthor's actor their slashfic about him and Welling, at a Con. Way creepy thing to see, I'd say.

Just my 2c, but ... seriously. While she may or may not be attractive, this kind of thread just sends the wrong message. It's different for the Bioware dude, he actually knows her. ;P

I think that some ME fans need to play some other type of games with REAL women. Yeah, I know, Christina is pretty, but come on, get a life

I was born and raised in southern California, and now I live in New Mexico and I'm pale...lol.

Anyway this thread is kinda creepy, I mean if you know her fine, but after the demo I heared that someone posted a love thread wanting her to be romanceable in ME3Image IPB !? Weither a joke or not its still kinda creepy, either she will be happy about this or creeped out, probobally the latter.
