There is a "Slap Morrigan" mod.
You can heal with your mage outside of battle and if you rile up some of your companions, sometimes they will fight you (in camp or on the road).

Wait, we get to fight our companions at some point if we annoy them or something?

Yes, I have never done it, but Wynne and Leliana will fight you at the urn if you pour the blood into the ashes. Wynne will fight you in the tower if you agree with Cullen all the mages need to die. If you have bad approval, Zevran will fight you in camp if he wants to leave and you won't let him. Oghren also will fight you in camp if you p-him off too many times. I think Sten even wants to fight in Haven? Look the rest of these up on you tube ![]()

Never done any of those scenes, but Sten almost fought me, but I convinced him that going to Haven was some sort of tactic or something. Now, it makes me think, maybe with all the s***storm going on Thedas, some people(companions) would not agree with your choices and they would fight you at one point. I hope it would be possible, conflict amongst the party.

Violence against women for no good reason other than not liking what they say. Hilarious. ![]()

And yet I remain unconvinced.

Answer me this, why was the slap Morrigan mod restricted to just... Morrigan. There were times when I would have really liked to slap some of the other companions, like Sten for being so dkfjghsdkfjghsdfg difficult in the beginning.
Anyway yeah I'd love to be able to use powers outside of combat, like kill a random bird or burn something... I don't know. Again, I'm thinking of Dragon's Dogma. Must - stop - the comparisons!!

because, in addition to "I like you---boom!----frog time" as summarized by the bastard, the following also invokes quintessential definition of hypocrisy.

So it's bad just because she's a woman? She's a strong capable fighter not a weak little mouse that needs to be protected. If she were so frail and weak that slapping her would be horrible and abusive then she would never be allowed in combat.

Hm...possibly because the animation of her being slapped was already in the game (from the fade sequence with her and Flemeth)? I don't really know though, I know nothing about modding.

...Seriously? You don't see the difference between trusting Morrigan as an ally on the battlefield and smacking a person who is supposedly your ally simply because you don't like what she has to say? A person who is strong and capable and a solider, even, can be physically abused. It's happened. Some of them have even ended up dead. Female cops and soldiers have been assaulted. Is that suddenly okay because they've been trained in forms of combat?
The problem is that there's a mod to allow you to hit a woman because you don't like what she says. If you can't see how that's a damaging reflection of how women are treated world-wide, then that's on you. I don't need to show statistics on how many women have suffered domestic violence, or how many women die when they try to leave or how the number one reason why pregnant women die is their husbands/boyfriends, I don't need to point out how men use violence against women as a warfare tactic or how many women in the military suffer abuse and have to shut up about it...seriously.
But yes...Far be it for me to find that particular mod distasteful. So terribly sorry I can't divorce it from the every day news I see on the violence against women for holding opinions. Yes. It's cleary just a bit of fun. Hitting a woman you don't agree with just because she can
ostensibly fight back. That's never left a woman dead or in prison.
And before anyone tells me that it's just a game, media has been influencing thoughts and perceptions as long as it's been around.

I simply don't see what her gender has to do with it. There are women abused and murdered irl, there are men abused and murdered irl, there are children abused and murdered irl. It's a mod where you can slap one specific person. It's not a "men slap all women mod" or a "beat Morrigan within an inch of her life" mod. Is slapping Morrigan only offensive if the PC is human? Only if the PC is male? Is it less offensive if another woman slaps her? (as happens often in real life) Either women are to be protected and put on a pedestal, kept out of danger, etc...or they are equal to men and anything that happens to either gender should be perceived the same way, it shouldn't suddenly be insane if it's a woman. It can't be both ways.

I dont see the appeal of the whole slapping mod. For instance i didnt want a murdering sten in my party so left him to his fate . Im southern grown and smacking a woman is something your taught NOT to do. Its beneath a real man.

If you don't destroy the Anvil and have Shale with you, she will attack you as well. And if you to to camp afterwards and talk to her with the wrong dialogue, she'll so attack you there.
And Zevran could turn traitor on you in Denerim if your friendship level was too low and he was approached by Talesian. Quoting "it's just business."
Merril and Fenris both can turn and force you to fight them if you relationship scores are too mediocre and you choose Pro-Templar/Pro-Mage, respectively.
DA games usually have historically had quite a few venues to have your companions turn on you and attack.

Wow, didn't know Merril had the spine to actually turn on you

In the "slap Morrigan" mod, I only used it as a female player. AND she slaps back sometimes. O_o

I think the direction going with this topic is not intended to be about whether slapping someone literally or figuratively was the intent.
As for the use of powers, sure, if my inquisitor has some special power, for example if my Inquisitor would have learned from the Templars how to disrupt the magic of mages, it could be used in conversations.
