It's a rogue inquisitor, not a companion.

Aaaaaaaahhh, how foolish of me
Edit: Wait, how did you know?

The concept artist said so. Also you'll notice that when it's the Inquisitor shown, they have a red waist thing on.
I assumed it was the Inquisitor as well ![]()
Yup, that's the Inquisitor. ![]()
Okaaaaaaay then, everyone could disregard this post from here on ![]()
Edit: I want to thank everyone who posted here on informing me that the Hooded Guy was apparently the Inquisitor.
Also, the last one standing on the rock with the bird is a woman, so not even the same Inquisitor there. =)
I really hope we actually can smoke that pipe.
It would bring my planned character full circle.

Something that I am hoping for as well
I think "Scuttlebutt" is good for Mass Effect. Not so much for Dragon Age.
I agree, since it's where they got the word from. Ashley must be the one that said that word if I remember JM accurately posting it or something.
I wonder who the other character in this shot is, though? They can't both be Inquisitors, even though they both have red waist things. Is the one pointing meant to be our character, or the person with the bird?
(By the way, this art is absolutely beautiful and I really hope it looks as amazing in the game as it does here.)

Well, since Scuttlebutt is a sailing term thus matching Mass Effect, since Dragon Age has agriculture should it be called the 'Rumor Mill'?

Agreed. I really hope we get to see a night sky like that in the actual game.

Both of them are inquisitors, or at least the other one has a lower rank, or so I think. The other one is holding a scroll, must be a map, he could be some sort of navigator guy or something; since he is pointing at the horizon.
Question: Aren't people part of the Inquisition are supposedly called Inquisitors? If they are, then our character must be the Grand Inquisitor

Good point, im sure the hooded figure with is the inquisitor according to the other concept pieces, we havent seen that person before in any way so idk, maybe itll be explained in the future

Yeah you'd think so, but our character is just *the* Inquisitor. Maybe we're the only one to hold that rank and everyone else just uses whatever title they had before joining.
All the promotional material calls them the Inquisitor, and in-game everyone has used that title (or "Your Excellency", or maybe it was "Your Eminence")

I see, thanks for making that clear to me. That makes sense, since our character is the only one that is being inquisitive about the veil and other sorts of problem.

Although everyone who is a member of the Inquisition can be called an Inquisitor, I really don't think they are gonna do that.
In the trailer, Inquisition soldiers call the Inquisitor 'Your Eminence', But if you read the script he/she is simply referred as the 'Inquisitor' .
Imagine how it will turn out if everyone of your Companion has the rank of Inquisitor :
Random NPC #5 : Inquisitor we really need your help.
Varric: Are you talking to me?
Cassandra: I think he is talking to me.
'Inquisitor': Guys, come on he is obviously talking to me.
Varric: Hey Random NPC guy who were you talking to you?
Random NPC#5 : Actually I was talking to the Boss.
'Inquisitor': Told Ya.
Cassandra : I still think he is talking to me.

Gotta admit, those lines made me laugh, and yes I agree that our character should be the only Inquisitor. Since then, how else would the NPC's call us. They can't call us by name so they have to stick with our title. Just like the Warden/Warden Commander.

Heh.
It might feel artificial to base the ~entire freaking organisation~ around one Inquisitor, but I can see why they'd want to make the player feel like the most special snowflake on the entire continent - and Mark Darrah was saying all that stuff about our Inquisitor being an inspiration to the other soldiers. Looking at some other concept art it's clear that other characters are wearing similar clothing to the protagonist, though, which means they seem to have a uniform and hierarchy.
(You'd have to think the old Inquisition had more than one Inquisitor, surely. Although an item in the PAX demo was the "Sword of the First Inquisitor", so maybe not.)

I thought it kinda looked like Mahogany Man, but with the Red Sash = Inquisitor thing, maybe that is concept art of the possible MP options? *shrug*
