I really loved how, in DA:O, your romances (save for Leliana) gave you a gift of their affection. Zevran gave you his earring. Alistiar gave you his rose. Morrigan gave you the ring. I loved that.

If you haven't brought it back by this point, I think it's safe to say we won't be able to have it in the game (as it's getting quite close to shipping. And by close I mean approximately 6 or so months away), but I'd like to see such tokens of romances return eventually; whether it be in DA:I or future games.

It gave the romances more meaning. As if their character really cared for the protagonist, it was quite nice seeing things like that. It'd be really nice if something like that would happen on DA:I

Based on some scenes with her and Anders, it's possible Isabella gave you a VD? Does that count?

I'd honestly forgotten about the tokens of affection (thanks to Leliana being my "canon" romance), and honestly I now would really like for them to return in DAI

Yes, it'd be a nice touch to have again in the romances. In DAII it was only you, who gave gifts to your LIs, while they cheated, ran off, screamed, lied, used you and everything in between. That was frustrating at times.

Yeah, I miss LI giving you gifts. It made it feel like they cared more about you rather than just take take take.

I'd like to see this brought back as well. And why not more than one gift per companion. :P The first gift can be really stupid while they try to figure out you/your tastes... and then improved the second time around.

Well, Merrill was a virgin so if you romance her she gives you a very big gift. Some say the greatest gift of all.

Listen that's fine,I'll take some gifts, but I don't need anyone falling in love with me because I like their socks, okay?

 I don't want virginities, I want a ring.

It wouldn't even have to just be a vanity/plot item.  It could be something practical.  Crafting goodies (potion or armor), a weapon, an accessory... something you could use.  That would be nice.  And it wouldn't have to just be romantic partners who did this.  No one's ever gotten a gift from a friend?

Romantic partners should give better gifts, but I think friends could give you a gift or two, as well.  Maybe if it's your Inquisitor's birthday or a holiday, etc.  Maybe just to celebrate the fact that you've become great friends.

Also, gifts should reflect the giver.  So, if the person giving the gift is very wealthy, they could do something like buy you a better horse, for instance.

Then you deserve neither.   :P

I want wedding ring, then virginity.

Though that brings up a thought. I wonder if you'll be able to marry your Li this time. I mean, Alistair you had to be human noble, and Sebastian you could marry. Why are only the prince characters able to be married?

I loved the tokens!  Alistair's rose and his goofy speech were so endearing.  I actually still have a pressed rose from when I first started dating my husband (no sappy analogies from him, unfortunately), so Alistair's rose gave the romance more depth and realism for me.

This is a great idea!  It's satisfying to give a meaningful gift and people generally find a lot of happiness in giving, so I don't see why our companions would be any different.  Here's to hoping our Inquisitor can find companions that are more thoughtful than Hawke's menagerie of selfish brats!

Wait, what? The DA2 LIs were certainly known to run off, scream and lie, and arguably a couple of them used you. But cheated? When did that happen?

Unless you mean they cheat at Wicked Grace and/or Diamondback, in which case you're probably right. Certainly right in Isabela's case.

I'd love it if LIs gave gifts instead of receiving. My protagonists give them all these shinies and torn trousers, but they don't give anything in return  :(

I want my Quizzy to feel appreciated, goshdarnit.
