Well, it certainly would be a nice feature.

If I remember correctly, you got certain items when maxing out the relationships in Persona 4 (and 3), which were both a token of their affection and gave you the possibility to create the strongest Persona of the specific Arcana.

This would work very well with the crafting system, giving you access to special rare weapon/armor-blueprints.

I hope we're all invited to the wedding! :P

It wouldn't be a party without the BSN :P

It'd be cool if we could romance an NPC Inquisitor and get married.

Well, Merrill was a virgin so if you romance her she gives you a very big gift. Some say the greatest gift of all.

It's off-topic, but I don't get this "Merrill was a virgin" talk.

Merrill was a Dalish elf. They go at it like bunnies.

Which is silly, since she was strong and confident in DA:O.

This is great idea. I'm hoping this will be in it.

Unless the item in question actually does something, I couldn't care less. The lack of an accompanying gift doesn't make a declaration of affection any more or less meaningful.

What if you could see them wearing it ?

That would be alright. I'm all for items that serve a purely cosmetic purpose. But then it would have to be something bigger than a ring, wouldn't it?

Sounds like Fenris wearing the Amell crest if you romance him.  I wouldn't mind receiving a gift that shows up like that in DA:I for our PC or LI, it's adorable!

I really loved the gifts in DA:O. Like, it was really nice to get something in return and not be the only one giving all the time... Even if it was just a dryed up rose or an old earring taken from a corpse (or a ring I guess, I haven't romanced Morrigan).

I did like the gifts, they added a nice touch to the romances.  But I would second the suggestion that close friends could give gifts as well.  It would be a nice acknowledgement of a close friendship and I would think it would not cost a lot of "zots" to do.  Practical gifts, or gifts fitting the personality of the giver would be nice,  I could see Varric giving you a book of tales.  Don't know enough about the other characters to guess what they might give.  I could see Sten in origins giving you a whetstone for your blade (not sure what, if anything he would have given a mage).  So not significant gifts in terms of gameplay, but little things can add a lot to immersion.  If it isn't possible for DAI, maybe in a future game.

I'd actually prefer if the Inquisitor got gifts from friends (as well),not (only) the LIs. And also if they gave each other gifts if they had formed friendships

If they want to prove their devotion to me they have to prove it. If Iron bull wishes to woo me he has to cut off his horns and give them to me.
