Top 3 is really tough for me, but:

Lots of ppl do not like the Acolyte .....I use to feel that way because of the charge ......but now I know how to make it bounce off of walls to hit  targets in cover .... like the other night on reactor map there was a Maurder taking cover where I could not get a clear shot so I bounced the shot off the near by wall which bounced right into him stunning him then I followed up with shotgun to the face.....

Lots of people don't like the Acolyte because it's too damn good. It's too freaking easy mode for some hardcore players.

I've always been a pistol girl myself, I love them all and it's easily my favourite class of weapons, but my top 3 would have to be

 

1 - Eagle

2 - Scorpion

3 - Phalanx

Well, of the four I have access to...

 

Carnifex, M11-Suppressor, Predator

 

Carnifex for the punch, Suppressor for the clean-up ability, Predator for being a solid. lightweight fallback option.

Talon, and suppressor. If I were to say a third I'd say arc pistol, but that's more because I lack alternatives than anything else... I have used it no more than 5-6 times, so...

2. Agreed, even better on a kit that can one shot shields/barriers for 1 shot headshot kills.

3. Only great on a GI? Disagree with that. Vanguards, Geth Trooper Soldier, Turian Soldier, etc. can make it great as well. Easy to use? I can agree with that, but doesn't change how good it is.

1. Arc - so damn good on everything I just get bored of using it

2. Talon - pretty amazing but limited by range

3. Eagle - just starting to realize how good this pistol is, I could see it passing the Talon for me

 

Acolyte does not count as a pistol. As effective as it is, I hate it...most boring gun in the game imo

I never got the hang of the Talon GI (I run him with raider, claymore, or GPS) but I use the talon on almost ever single biotic I play.  It's a little ridiculous, honestly.

Top 3 in effectiveness - arguably in the top 3 of every weapon in the game.

 

But in terms of fun top 3... well that's subjective.
