Lets all talk about something new and original. Like mages and templars.
Kill the templars. They are enslaving the mages for merely being born as they are.

Did you know that Ser Alrik was bald too!?
I couldn't believe it.

Kill the mages. They are the problem that necessitated the creation of the templars.

Funny that you claim not to want one, then make a post to try to bait those who like her into responding, yes?
Why would i care what random text on a screen has to say about my opinion on a NPC?
._.
We could talk about who might be leading the templars who defected from the Chantry in the wake of Lambert's absence.
Just a thought.
Don't be silly.

I think the closest thing we'll get is whoever leads the Red Templars.
I don't know who'll lead the reds, but I bet he'll be bald. And we all know what that means.

We find out it's Alistair. ![]()
We find out it's Alistair.
Seems likely.
After being scorned by a mage once too many times, he went on a binge of red lyrium that resulted in him going even more absurdly moronic then usual and decided joining Cerberus 2.0 was a good idea.
.
In all seriousness though, i am relieved that the Rogue Templars by Dev Comments, aren't Red Templars by Default.
That would have been another writing off of a faction in favor of just turning them into mobs of mooks to kill despite their politics being debatable and even agreeable to some.
That won't work since the Divine appoints Seekers, often from templars. If Justinia still lives, she can just appoint a new Lord High Seeker.
The templars broke away from the divines authority remember? They can appoint whoever they wish to head their orginization now using whatever procedure they see fit.
Seems likely.

Agreed. I love a good antagonist.
Interestingly, people seem to prefer talking about Anders more than templars.
Anyway. My guess is that templar leadership will be a shattered mess, with the Reds scooping up plenty of them and the remainder who don't want to go back to the Chantry just fighting their own individual battles as best they can.
Entirely possible, fracturing when a leadership void opens wouldn't be unprecedented. Of course one would wonder if the mages might feel the same as well, with the loyalist, isolationist, revolutionaries, and moderates all splintering apart from one another to pursue their own goals.

Well color me green with envy, I didn't know you had a beta of the game in your possession. Tell us more spoilers please.

The easiest way to show someone's humanity is to render them powerless. You may well be disappointed if you think they'll be a cohesive and strong army.

Aequitarians and Libertarians are on the same side, and the Lucrosians and Isolationists seem mostly opportunistic. Even the Loyalists have reason to fight the templars now that they no longer follow the Chantry, so I think they'll have pulled together fairly well.

Shush it's bad enough someone kept going on how he'll side with the mages than stay neutral ![]()
Merrill is adept at magic, and she's building a complicated device from lore and information obtained from a shard she successfully cleansed of the taint. That demonstrates intelligence.
Merrill is nice to people who are neither, like Isabela, Varric, Sebastian, and the Mabari Hound.
Merrill is able to discern if the recruit Kerras is possessed. She's also able to identify the nature of spirits, like Torpor, and possessed creatures, like the Profane Abomination.
Also, Audacity is sundered from the Fade and trapped in a statute.
Culture shock is what Merrill experiences in a culturally foreign city.
As for the templar leadership, I think their focus on apostates like Merrill could also decide how they treat and react to a Dalish or Vashoth mage protagonist.
I could reply to every point you made, but I propose we agree to disagree .
Because I will always believe that she is a stubborn lady, living in a fairy land and you will always believe .. whatever it is that you believe (Also because I don't really know how to do that MultiQuiote thingy.)
I still have to wonder, where do they get such a big amount of Red Lyrium to supplement the needs of the Red Templars. According to lore it's extremely rare.

The sword turned Meredith into a statue of red lyrium, so it seems to spread like a virus.

Numerious excavations into the deep roads ? We also know that you don't even need a signficant amount of it for it to have an effect on the individual.

According to Nathaniel, the First Warden was doing some digging around the Primeval Thaig. I smell an alliance!

Maybe someone gave it to them?

I don't think that the crystal can self-replicate like that. Also, she was channeling power through it as well, which ended up shattering the sword, which then imprisoned her with what looked like the released energy from the lyrium.
