According to Nathaniel, the First Warden was doing some digging around the Primeval Thaig. I smell an alliance!
Only if the Mad Hermit turned out to be the First Warden.

Huh? You lost me.

Unless the First Warden is a short dude who can shoot electricity from his fingers, that wouldn't make much sense
Maybe someone gave it to them?
A wizard gave it to them, Which is tragically Ironic.

Why? Do you think it's unplausible that the Wardens (or at least some of them) could be antagonists in DAI?
I agree with this notion.
The Wardens can do a lot of things to combat the threat of Darkspawn.
And plus they occasionally get dragged into politics and try to depose sovereign monarchs.

First-Warden is described as a smart man with great political sense , Supplying Super-Steroids to Always Chaotic Evil Mooks does not seem like his M.O.

Indeed. The First Warden is only a figure head cause he's so busy dealing with Anderfels nobility and politics.

I blame Aizen. It's obviously his plot to take over the fade.

Based on what evidence exactly do you draw these conclusions?

I knew it was Flemeth!
Where did he was described as a smart man? From what I know he's described as an ambitious man with political goal. That doesn't mean he's smart.First-Warden is described as a smart man with great political sense , Supplying Super-Steroids to Always Chaotic Evil Mooks does not seem like his M.O.

What if Shale is leading the red templars?
She could have gotten some of it embedded in her. ![]()
Assuming she hasn't become a dwarf again.

Now that would be a sight. A pigeon crushin', mage hatin' wrecking ball that can't be stopped.

I just want the material world, he can have that blasted realm of ghosts and demons.
Just stay out of my Palace!
Just because it turned black doesn't mean i still don't owe those Filipino's another two millennium's work on it!
Uh, jokes aside. Considering the vivid discussion my post made, do you guys never asked the same question before? It was the first one, that came into my mind, when i've heard of Red Templars - so much RL does not exist, unless RT are exceedingly rare.

I might have overstated a wee bit,(damn you for calling me out)
But, He is a very important political figure in Anderfels (Anders' Home nation), so he can't be completely lunatic or politically inept. And I think we can all agree that supplying mind-screwy superpower drug to homicidal maniacs is a bad thing, right?
With the veil tear and the world supposedly ending, it's hardly difficult to fathom.
He's an important figure because the local king is weak, and the Warden are massively popular (and needed).I might have overstated a wee bit,(damn you for calling me out)

Trust me. Smarter people have probably done worse things in Thedas. Just because he is smart and politically savvy doesn't mean that he couldn't be an antagonist.
Huh? You lost me.
What if the local Wardens are mind-controlled by Corypheus?Given what red lyrium does to a person, I don't see the Wardens allying with the Red Templars.

What would Cory want with Red Templars though?

I'm not saying he's an idiot, but we have no evidence otherwise.
And he doesn't have to support the Reds. The local Wardens might.
Agreed
But could we just stop calling them 'Reds', really anything else will do

But if we assume that FW is a smart person or at the very least not a crazy one, what would be his motivation for creating RT, they can't be reasoned with, so they can't be controlled.
