Maybe its just me but does anyone else think that the City Elves killing the lord is almost more climactic then killing the Archdemon?

Yes.
On my first playthrough, Vaughan glitched and he was waiting for me in Howe's dungeon. I got to kill him twice.

It definitely gets my blood boiling.
Getting revenge on Howe as a Cousland is equally satisfying. I remember my first playthrough as a rogue, hitting him with mark of death and activating tainted blade (I think I threw some other buffs/debuffs in there but it's been too long to remember =/) to backstab him for 100 like every second haha. Only thing was it was over way too soon.

Ya City Elf is best origins if you are a warrior in my opinion. If you choose to be a women you get to start out with chainmail not leather. You get to have a belt that gives +4 attack and a few other things.

Yes.

did you get the whole dialouge again? that would be pretty awesome getting to destroy him 2 times...
