Lol, true, very true. But I wonder if she used it to get to the position she's in now? She is such an enigma to me. (and good, I just get lazy typing sometimes, but if it bothers you let me know and I will never use it again :) )

Do you like her, Z? I know how you feel about Mages in general, but is she an exception, or..?

Gotta love Flemeth! She is so compelling one of DA's biggest mysteries.Though Morrigan's quote from witch hunt about her is also quite intriguing,if not enlightening.

I thought what she craved was immortality. And yet I was wrong. So very wrong. She is no blood mage, no abomination... She is not even truly human

@Hana He probably feels the same way about her as I do: She's a great character with a lot of potential and who's story I look forward to learning more of.  That doesn't mean I like her as a person or trust her anymore than I could throw her dragon form.

Did you mean me lol?

I think the sooner she dies for good the sooner Thedas magically gets more stable, That's my mindset.

Why, though? Because of her magic/power?

Alright, I know this is Flemeth and all, but I think you're giving even her a bit too much credit.

Besides, you can't kill the Dread Wolf.  We all know that's what she is.

I need to know what my wife is, if she's not human lol.

I always thought maybe she had the spirit of an old god? Which is a sure way of knowing blood magic was used.

When I read the description of Dread Wolf, I wasn't kidding when I said that Flemeth fit the profile.

And just because they use a male pronoun for the Wolf, it doesn't mean squat.   If Flemeth really is a god of some kind, then like Gozer, "its whatever it wants to be."

Fen'Harel is also known as the Dread Wolf, He Who Hunts Alone,[15] Lord of Tricksters, Roamer of the Beyond and Bringer of Nightmares. He was known as kin to both the Creators and the Forgotten Ones. His supposed betrayal of both clans of gods by sealing them away in their respective realms, never again to interact with the mortal world, is sometimes used to explain why the elven gods did not intervene to prevent the fall of Arlathan.[16] Indeed, Fen'Harel has allegedly never been fond of the elven people  and is said to have spent centuries in a far corner of the earth after his great deception, hugging himself and giggling madly in glee.[17]

This deceit itself--known as the "Great Betrayal"--is sometimes described as a truce suggested by the Dread Wolf,[18] and other times as a hunt by the Creators and Forgotten Ones in the Heavens and the Abyss, respectively, for a blade Fen'Harel promised would stop a war.[19] It may even have been a bid by Fen'Harel to rule the Fade himself without the interference of the other elven gods.

In any case, Flemeth being a blood mage is the least of our concerns.  We should probably get back to talking about NPCs that don't show signs of possibly being a god.

If i am indicator of anything?

Gods can indeed die.

We just linger in online forums for several years afterwards...

No because of what she is, A "person" who sits behind the scenes slowly pushing the cogs and pieces into place and shaping the world through it :/

Humanity should dictate its existence, its fate, not some old woman in a shack.

Oh!there countless theories about Flemeth and that's one of the reasons I like her! Some speculate that she's an OGB,others assume that she's the dread wolf and there are those who believe that she's Dumat...What we can say for sure is that she is a mystery,a scaly draconic mystery...

Was that in WoT and if so what page or chapter ^_^ ? I'd like to see it, that's something I would be interested in.

I don't really mind which God she is, as long as she is one.. because there is just too much power and mystery to that woman for her to turn out as just your local abomination.

I wouldn't say she's dictating existence, I think she's merely helping her cause.

I have a question is Blood magic Justified if you use it on a 70 year old man on his death bed and is going to die in a few days but his a naff  life force to heal a child with cancer or was injured in a bandit attack yes your using bll\ood magic buts its on someone who going to die anyway

I would argue yes, except that you might be able to cure cancer with your own blood if you're clever enough about it. Cancer spreads through the lymph nodes, and the individual tumors are fed by blood vessels that grow to support them in a way that deviates from the normal pattern that blood vessels grow in. I think a blood mage might be able to disrupt that process somehow.

We have differing opinions on her ultimate goal then, she sure is arranging things at least constant in every world state according to design, Why she is doing it?

My assumption? is to seize the mantle of Kami, Or destroy the world or cliched tripe like that :P

Eitherway hope she ends up with a sword in her ribs.

Maybe that annoying ramen obsessed Kyuubi boy can go bug her now that he has killed all of us ._.

Well, first of all, I do not want her to die. I don't even think she can? We "killed" her once, so I don't think a sword in her ribs would do anything lol.

But honestly, I don't even know what her ultimate goal is or even could be. So much ~*~mystery~*~

:P

Seriously though, I really wonder what the deal is for her and what she truly wants.

Was Morrigan a Blood Mage, I forget?

No, Morrigan is not a blood mage...unless you make her one as a spec. But Wynne and others do call her a maleficar because she practices a type of magic that isn't sanctioned by the Circle and the Chantry, and that is shapeshifting.

Oh boohoo, she can turn into a bear, that hardly makes her Maleficar.

Interesting how Wynne can be so judgmental when she is technically an abomination herself.

I think that Shapechanging is technically forbidden. Or would be forbidden, if the Chantry actually thought it was possible. Oh well. Either way, Wynne is kind of swallowing the camel here. Maybe that's why she didn't want to stick around in the Circle.

Technically, any mage who practices any form of magic that isn't sanctioned by the Circles qualify as maleficar. Heck, if a Warden is an Arcane Warrior, they would technically be a maleficar because it's a long-forgotten form of magic that the Circles and the Chantry do not recognize.

And yes, Wynne can be very judgemental.

To be fair Lob, we don't know if Jowan consorted with demons or not.  He never says either, and even if you get ahold of the bugged out quest, he never does.  Was it books?  Was it demons?  We honestly don't know.  This is the same Circle where a cat got possessed by a rage demon, if Anders wasn't just trying to mess with the Warden.  So I think either way is just as likely.

I'm talking with Jowan in his cell as we speak, playing as a mage Warden. I asked him if he summoned the demon and he said, "No! I don't know the first thing about summoning demons!" So he is either lying (wouldn't be the first time), or to "dabble" (as he put it) you can learn from books.

Perhaps you can learn a few spells here and there from books, but for the real deal, you need a demon.

Edit: By books I mean self taught or taught by other mages, as is described in WoT.

Outright blood magic as in she is a User? No but she knowledge at least of the theory. she possess knowledge of how to access the fade through blood magic, and has no compulsion not to view it merely as another source of power.

She can actually act as a stand in for Jowain in the Arl of Red Cliffe Quest.

Unless you have a book in Awakening, learn it from your master in Tevinter as some Tevinter apprentices do according to the lore, or so on.

I was just being sure, since the topic is about blood magic.  ^_^

If Flemeth is some sort of deity, then her apparent use of blood magic is an implicit recognition that its use is justified.

Yes, as it says in WoT. I bundled learning with books as learning from another, I should have been clearer.
