Suit yourselves. But like I said, to me all the mages that are not going blood are as good as dead. If one is not willing to fight with all their might and all the available resources, there is a small chance to survive.
When is Blood Magic justified?

Or you know, just falling over from using ALL of their own blood.
Or, you turn a templar inside out and then use their blood to fuel your next spell. Grave robber - One foot in, but a little more extreme.

I'll take death over the very increased chance of a crippling addiction and the possible loss of my soul. That's just me though. For my own views, I would consider it far more cowardly of me to trade my values for my life.
And I'm agreeing with TSAR on something. Weird.
There's no real proof of an afterlife in this setting. Which means that "at least I died with my soul" might end up being a pretty meaningless statement.

And an even bigger chance of turning into abominations and butchering your fellow Mages and sympathizers.

It's all up to the individual. If one becomes an abomination unwillingly they are either an uneducated scrub or a weak-minded fool.

I'll take the risk of nothingness over blood magic, thanks. As Aveline said, I will have died and gone to the Maker's side...or not. Either way, a demon isn't getting it's claws into me.
@TSAR: See my signature. I primarily play rogues and have for over 25 years in D&D. I do like to try out different things from time to time and a blood mage was pretty different. ![]()

On the flipside, with blood magic your average mage would be too busy cackling with glee to notice that they've been decapitated by the hidden Templar who flanked them.
That's not a joke, it does happen.

So becoming an abomination willingly is a-ok? Like Kasumi once said: ".....creeeepppyy."
That's not a joke, it does happen.
Graphic Novel? If so...WHERE?!!

If you can separate from the RP, I like did, it was a lot of fun.
I've played a blood mage a couple of times.I kinda felt bad when I used blood sacrifice for the first time though...

@Lorien I never used blood sacrifice. I shut off blood magic and just healed myself that way. I couldn't bear to use sacrifice on my team.
Wait...did that comic actually use "pagan" as a pejorative? And not the word heathen or heretic instead?

I agree with this because I think it's probably common for younger Mages to lack the common will or education, but if a Mage does it willingly, I can't say that it's alright -- unless it's a case like Wynnes.

It's every persons choice what to do with their life. If they think that they can benefit from a union with a spirit/demon and they have studied such things enough to know what they are dealing with, then they should go for it.

You're right, if someone feels they can benefit from Small Pox then they should infect themselves, damn the well being of others around them.
Also did you ever watch One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest?

You know i find some of you're points debatable considering we have a few similarities but allowing possession?
Even if it is by choice it shouldn't be allowed, its about the same as strapping on a hurt jacket and running into a crowd.
:/ something i am also against.

Demons are much more powerful and very manipulative though, you don't think that's a recipe for disaster?
I think the merging of spirits is alright, but only if you're able to handle it - ie: Anders/Justice and Wynne/her Spirit

If they don't care about others around them something is already wrong, Small Pox will only solve the conflict when either the infected will be hunted down, or the diseases spreads and kills the others.
No I haven't watched that.
