I think the tranquil would make effective leaders of either side. It seems they are less likely to make hasty decisions. Survival remains a priority for them.

However, one could argue that their lack of emotions is actually a hindrance.

Lack of emotions can be a hindrance but not by that much

He stated he encountered a barrier, not under what circumstance he encountered it under, perhaps he merely saw it from across the room, Perhaps he was right up on it and staring at how it stupidly glowed blue.

Owain states he preferred it in the storeroom; that's his explanation for returning to the second floor to clean.

Anyway, Your hypothesis relays upon just as much speculation as my own given that we weren't there when Owain came upon the barrier and therefore we have to go by his rather vague description of events.

You seem to be confusing me addressing what's explicitly said with you substituting your imagination as fact.

They could serve as tacticians, then. A position that relies on logical thinking and a sense of detachment or willingness to accept losses.

Ooh, nice catch.  This is very true; having someone that is emotionless can help make certain tough decisions later.

No that's what you do when it comes to the Dalish lob.

I was offering my perspective, given Owain stated he encountered a barrier, upon finding no way through he returned to the second floor stockroom to clean.

He didn't state how he encountered it, that part was left out therefore leaving it open to interpretation.

They could also apparently open a brewery considering they make half decent ale according to Wynne.

You were adding things straight from your imagination that aren't even implied in the dialogue that's spoken by Owain and Wynne; that's the problem with you trying to trash me pointing out what's actually said when your retort is basically ideas that aren't even slightly implied by anything that's said by either of the characters.

Tranquil can be morale boosters, then.

Z, I do agree with Lob here.  Please stop with the random name calling.  It isn't on topic and Lob hasn't even brought up the Dalish, you did.

Thank you. ^_^

There's an irony there.

I feel that the best way to utilize tranquil is to set them to find a solution to the mage vs non-mage problem. they could then reach the point where they create massive golems that periodically wipe out all forms of life capable of magic.

We're bored and lack any new information about Inquisition.  Everything is becoming a "hot button" issue as a result. :P

My Imagination?

No the Library was in chalk filled with things capable of killing people, note the dead templars and mages on the floor, Note we did not actually see the Tranquil in question when he was walking into the room with the barrier, therefore any statement countering that is speculation, Furthermore you leave out the bit where Owain directly stated he encountered a barrier, he didn't include a HOW or WHEN in that declaration.

._. So while you are trying to use three or so lines of dialogue as definite proof of your point here, i am merely pointing out, he was vague, we didn't see it and given how the room is arranged you can see said barrier from the other side it, you know avoiding the demons that killed every one.

Its not imagination, its speculation based upon in game evidence and perspective :P there is a difference, its no more automatically false then your own notion he magically made it to the barrier unharmed and then scampered back up to the second floor with nary a scratch.

I really want a scene in DAI of some tranquil debating the merits of their condition, inspired by this thread.  :D

Me too, honestly.  I'd like to have some more interactions like the Tranquil in the next game outside of say, a store or the Circles.

I wouldn't mind it :(
