This is the first person view of Shepard choosing to destroy the Reapers, now finding out what to happen as this occurs.
I stepped forward each shot I send towards the generator. My thoughts go through in slow motion, showing the faces of all the people I ever cared for. The plasma rounds penetrate the glass deeper each step closer I got towards the generator. No matter what happens, the reapers must be stop I thought once more. The thermal clip begun to grow dry. The smoke slowly rises from the vents on the sides of the pistol. And at that moment from my last shot, the generator explodes into a fiery flame, shooting towards to where I stand as it engulfs me completely, shrouding my vision into darkness. And even though the intense heat and burns cause me to propel back, the last image to flow in my mind while I die is Tali.
Blackness surrounds my vision. I'm dead I thought to myself. I can't feel my arms, nor' my legs. It's almost as if I have been frozen in time in a stance that I will never break away. I can't think of anything to move on now. Have I destroyed the Reapers? Even though my concern of the reapers destruction that is probably taking place right now fills my head, my heart can only send small messages again and again for Tali. Minutes soon turned to hours, complete utter darkness. I try real hard to even see if I have any parts left by moving them, yet there doesn't seem to be any response to my nerves. Suddenly a small light glows ahead of me. For some odd reason I have an urge to try to grab it. At last, I can see my hands from the light and I can feel myself moving. I slowly step forward to the light, keeping my hands in front of it. Each step I took forward, the light grew brighter and brighter until it was blinding my eyes. I want to turn away from it, but I can't stop moving each time I step forward before completely emerging through the bright light. My body suddenly grown very numb and cold, but I feel as if I was laying on a cloud. I look around the light, trying to feel my nerves slowly working again to the point were I can feel the softness of whatever I was laying on touch against my arms and legs. The brightness slowly dissipates, revealing what looks like a wall not to far ahead of me. I try to walk towards it, but my legs don't respond. Instead my legs only slightly lift up. I can feel my head working, my neck allowing me to turn from left or right. I can't help but to turn to my right since something appeared to be laying onto it. I felt like going into shock, but can only breathe in deeply to find Tali leaning on my arm. Her head rests onto my shoulder as well, but her eyes are shut and her breathing in a slow pace. The bright walls and marble floors soon reveal what looks like a cubicle room. Where am I? Am I alive? I can't even explain to myself what is happening right now. A beeping emerges from behind me, allowing my vision to turn directly up to the sound, revealing what appears to be a monitor, showing a jump of a scale each second the line moves forward. I then feel the cords and tubes connected onto the bottom of my wrist and joints, noticing an IV bag above me. I'm inside of a hospital, how am I even alive I thought to myself once more. A gasp turned my direction to the right once again, Tali's eyes glistening under her visor and her hands shaking lightly. I can't help but to reach for her, but it appears she had the same idea as well, not giving me a chance to even sit up from the bed as she lurches towards me, wrapping her arms around me as tight as she could. "Shepard...your awake!" She says croaky as her head nestles up against my side head. I place both of my arms around her, holding her as tight as I could, not wanting to let her go. "Tali..." The only words that can escape from my mouth as I remain in disbelief that I am alive. "The doctors were right...I can't believe it..." She says once more, not even resting her grasp. I've been asleep and I never even known it. I would not respond to her question, keeping her a hold until finally breaking the hug after three minutes. "What happen Tali, where am I?" I calmly ask her, trying to hold back my emotions. "The Reapers were continuing there march until a red blast spread through the entire Galaxy, causing the Reapers and anything synthetic to shut down." She would tell me. "But where am I, what happen to me?" I ask her once more. "We searched for days after the destruction of the reapers, sweeping the field where you were last seen until we caught your Bio-SIgnals." She would say. "We followed the Bio-SIgnals, eventually leading up to a crater about four miles away from your spot, the crater was covered in Ruble so we had to dig it up until we found you in a face down position." She continues. "We couldn't tell if you were dead because your suit was in a big mess, but when we lifted you out and took you to the hospital, we found out that not only you didn't get seriously hurt, but you even felled to a deep sleep for three days." She exclaimed. I couldn't believe this. All I now remember of what last happen was shots and a fiery flame ball surrounding me, and even that is starting to grow vivid. "Oh Shepard, I thought you were gone..." Tali says, hearing her voice croak as tears fall under her mask. I reach for her, holding her tightly once more while she grips my back tightly, leaning her head onto my shoulder and close to my head. "It's okay Tali, I'm here now and I won't go anywhere without you."
I leave the Hospital doors, using the cane to help me stand since three days of sleep kept me from walking. Tali stays close to my shoulder, keeping her hand firmly gripped on mine. The bright sky shines down towards the road and my disbelief grows even more when I find Garrus standing in front of a hover cart, waving his hand towards our direction with a smile I never seen come from him. "Hey Shepard, looking good." He hollers directly to me, waving his hand for us to approach. I smile brightly, approaching in front of him, waving my hand in front of my face. "Give it to my straight Garrus, how is it?" He would chuckle, leaning off from the Hover car, repeating those familiar words I said to him back on the Normandy. "Hell Shepard, you were always ugly, I guess this time I'm going to be the one to have all the girls coming to me now." I can;t help but to chuckle, looking around his space before turning back to him, speaking in a sarcastic tone. "Yea, and you are doing a 'really' good job." He would then laugh once more, turning to the back of the hover car, opening the back doors of it, allowing me and Tali entrance in. "After you Commander, this time you are now in my Domain." He says to me.
After a thirty minute flight, we end up back inside of the Normandy onto the dock pod with the rest of the vehicles. Garrus would flick a bottom switch, letting the doors lift up to reveal the exit. I would step out, reaching for Tali's hand, assisting her out of the car. Garrus would step out of the driver seat, shutting the top door down before turning towards me. "Well, I need to get back to work in the engineer room, got a lot of 'calibrations' to get done." He says. I remember this line every time he says it, I can only give him a nod, waving towards him. "Alright Garrus, have fun with those 'calibrations'. I reply to him. He would chuckle, taking a step back to give me one final wave before preparing to walk off, speaking out to me. "It's good to see you back Commander." He then disappears around the corner, shutting the door from behind. "I always wonder what type of 'calibrations' he is even doing?" Tali would finally exclaim. I turn to her with a smile "Only he knows."
We enter the deck of the ship to find everyone at their normal stations. "Commander!" a familiar voice echoes through the ship ahead. Joker would come running towards my direction, his arms stretched out almost as if he is about to jump onto me. I take a step back, lifting my cane up the moment he stops dead in his tracks, only inches in front of me. "Ha, and you thought I was going to run into you." he says laughing. I regain my senses, slowly relaxing before placing my hand onto the cane. "Very funny Joker..." I reply to him. "Yep, that's my name." He says with a laugh once again. "It sure is great to see you back Commander, I had a thought of us all flying around a relay and ****** off some Alliance soldiers and just speed away." He would speak in a mysterious attitude. "Joker." I would tell him in a forceful mood. "Relax Commander, I'm just messing with you, you need to learn to relax." He says to me. "Well Joker, that's probably the reason why I am up here." I say to him. "I see, you two going to spend a while up on the 'vi vesta Normandy." He says in a french accent." I take in a deep breath, continuing to speak to him. "Not really, I want you to set coordinates to Rannoch and let the Flotilla know that we are coming and our ship is not clean." Tali would turn to me, gripping my hand much tighter, turning back to Joker. He would look at me funny, rubbing the top of his head. "What is this Commander, what's going on?" He says "With all due respect Joker, I am going to now be stepping down as your Commander." His eyes would drop as he steps back, rubbing the top of his head. "Why Commander, why are you going to leave me and everyone else on here?" "I'm not leaving everyone on this ship, remember that Joker, and two I think it's time for me to settle down." He would take in another breath before looking towards Tali and to me, nodding as he speaks. "I understand Commander, I will say that it was an honor serving by you." He says, taking a step back as he begins to make his way back. I would stop him, feeling as if there is one more thing I should do. "Joker, as I am now stepping down from Commander and Chief of the Normandy, I promote you to Commander of the Normandy." Joker would stop at his tracks, slowly turning to me while his eyes glisten. "You really mean it Coman- I mean Shepard?" I would smile to him, nodding in reply. "As long as we reach Rannoch in one piece, I will assume that you can handle the job." He would begin to laugh loudly, waving his hands in the air. "Yea, 'only' in one piece." He says, continuing to make his way up towards the cockpit.
We step onto the rocky canyon, the air flowing through the edges of the rock formations to look down to the other Quarians and Geth units constructing buildings and domes around a stretch of land. "Our people will be able to live again, we will all be able to adapt and live in peace and harmony thanks to you Shepard." Admiral Shala'Raan exclaims lightly. "The Quarians deserve another chance, and they are now going to have that, we have all worked together to make this possible, so I shouldn't take all the credit." I exclaim. "Our people appreciate your Generosity Shepard, we all are delighted for your presence that is among us." She says once again before taking a step back, proceeding back down to the steps towards the construction that continues on. "Keelah, I can't think of what to do now, I don't know how I will be able to relax from all the things we had to go through, and now I am an admiral, holding a serious responsibility for the fate of our people." Tali begins to speak about. I would re-grip her hand, turning towards her. "You did a good job for your people, besides I still have to build that house for you." She would chuckle lightly, placing her arms around my back while leaning her head onto my chest. I hold her tightly, leaning my head onto the top of hers as well, slowly breathing in. I can't believe it's finally over I thought to myself once more. Finally beginning to step down from command and rest, not having to worry about fighting anymore. I still have to remember those that lost their lives though, the ones who fought hard and died. I think of everyone that I care for once more, their faces and their emotions. I turn back to Tali, sliding the switch up to reveal her pale tinted face once more, along with her eyes as they glow looking up to me. We would both place our lips together at the same time, gently pulling back, allowing me to look at her face once more. "I love you Shepard." She would lightly exclaim, placing her hands onto my cheeks. "I love you too Tali." I respond, keeping my hands onto her shoulders.
(Apologies if I had some Grammar issues, and if this is a bad story, just got bored and wanted to express my own fan made ending with Tali as a love interest. Let me know if you want me to do Liara or anyone else.)
