Dwarves, Elves, or Mages/Templars. Which group will your Inquisition want to help more?

Pretty much what the title suggests. According to the devs as they used an analogy, we aren't becoming a jedi, we're founding a jedi order, or something like that. So I can only assume that we will have a great deal of influence on who's interests our organization will represent, can form alliances, and essentially set the tone for what the Inquisition will do in years to come after the game.

So if you had a choice, which group do you think your Inquisition would represent more?

For me, it would be the dwarves (surprise surprise, right?) For one thing, mages and templars both need lyrium, so I'd encourage trade with the dwarves, establish trade agreements and help fight the darkspawn. Also, I would be setting up some competition with the Chantry on the lyrium trade. This in turn would mean I'd be well-supplied to take in any mage or templar who wished to avoid the mage/templar war and help fight the real fight with the veil tear.

Short-term goals would be to establish trade agreements and alliances, probably commit soldiers to fight a few battles in the Deep Roads, and set up trade agreements on the surface with whoever is willing to pay. From Celene or Gaspard, or both for their civil war, to the elves, to the templars or to the mages, whoever is willing to pay. I could bypass the Chantry completely. If either mages or templars don't like the way I'm running things, they could go to the chantry as the chantry also would have some trade with the dwarves with their long-standing trade agreements. And if any templar or mage wishes to leave the Chantry, they could find a refuge with the Inquisition. And if any Grey Wardens wished to leave their order and focus on the surface issues instead of just the darkspawn, I'd take them too. Essentially my short term goals are to build alliances and agreements with a variety of groups to handle larger problems, whether it's Qunari, darkspawn or demons.

Long-term goals would be to use my newfound wealth to spread my influence across Thedas, taking care of the veil tears. All races would be welcome in the Inquisition and would be treated equally. They would be promoted based on ability and their deeds and not their race or their politics. I would promote a templar over a mage if that templar had proven he could handle the job I want him to have, or I may put an elf over an entire squad of humans if that elf is capable, and would give him disciplinary powers if anyone decides to disobey him because of his race. Or exercise them myself.

My Ultimatle Goal would be to solve problems other groups can't or won't solve, like the veil tears, support any group in their goals to establish peace, whether it's the templars hunting a cabal of blood mages or the dalish in setting up a new homeland peacefully, but ultimately be politically neutral. Every group would have access to the Inquistion's services so long as they aren't upsetting the peace in the world.

Depends on the background of the Inquisitor.

Totally depends on the background + whatever pre-established traits they seem to possess + whatever it is they see with their own eyes. I'm a firm believer in avoiding meta knowledge; if Inquisition gives my human Inquisitor nothing but bad times with the Dalish, he's going to be less likely to find them useful/worth saving.

It will depend on what my Inquisitor is, but probably elves. They're neat.

And I'm kinda tired of the whole "Mages! Templars! Mages! Templars!" thing anyway, and for some reason I never felt compelled to help the dwarves. >.>

EDIT: I misspelled 'depend'! The horror! D:

Depends on the Inquisitor. My first will probably be pro-Chantry. Although it does depend on how game frames the issues.

Well, I'm not going to support any organisation whose policy is founded on unproven religious twaddle that it plans to violently impose on others, so the Templars are out by default.

As for the rest, we shall see.

I hope it can help the dwarves. They are losing numbers everyday from the loss of fertility. And the surface dwarves have no above-ground home of their own.

Heh, that means dwarfs are out too, they're pretty stuck in their ways and Maker forbid someone have a different opinion down there.

My supports mostly leaning towards helping the elves and humans, and insuring some sort of peace between the mages and Templar's that hopefully doesn't end too badly for the mages, and if I can keep the dwarfs relatively ok in the process it'll be a good day but I'll take what I can get.
