 Hello everyone!

As you can see from our recent updates on the Report link, the PM system, and additional moderators, we are actively working on changes to BSN. Sometimes, we might not get it right (we are definitely continuing to work on PMs based on feedback from you guys), and all I ask is that when we do implement something you don't like or you want changed, that you let us know politely and rationally (e.g. "I strongly dislike this because XYZ" instead of "I hate everyone, this is dumb!").

That being said, what would you like to see changed on BSN? I can't promise what we will and will not due, but I've definitely heard your concerns here, at conventions, on social media etc. And I want to make this site the best one it can be.

So again, what do you want to see changed on BSN?

I should go. :wizard:

Is it possible that you could somehow give us the ability to put our own avatars on out profile on the BSN, instead of using the Dragon Age: Origins character creator?

Also, can there be a mobile version of the BSN?

I would like a developer tracker, like on BioWare/EA's SWTOR forums. A simple thread that contains every single post made by BioWare devs.

This a 1000 times over. Riot has a really nice feature on their forums which will tell you how many posts in a thread are dev posts and lets you cycle through them...skipping the hundreds of posts in between.

I'd like to see a more robust set of options for "privacy settings."

I'm not sure, but I believe there are just 3 settings, right now: public, semi-private and completely private.

I'd like to see the option of turning individual elements of one's profile private, such as:

- PMs being "friends only" (this might also help address the current PM concerns.)

- A setting allowing Walls to be visible publicly, but only friends may post comments.

- A toggle to include which Friends appear in your News Feed (This might also help address some of the recent PM concerns.)

- The ability to make individual photo albums private, and others public.

________________

Slightly unrelated, I would love a "search by user" for forum posts. We can search ourselves (sort of) but not other people.

I'd like to see the addition of a feature which shows you a preview of the first post in a thread when you hover the cursor over the thread topic. Most forums I frequent have this feature, and it can help users quickly discern whether or not they actually want to view the forum topic (particularly when the thread has a cryptic title).

This is your social site so why do you have SWtOR separated out of the social network? I just forget that this site is even here.

If I'm understanding your request correctly, you can actually already do this. On the list of threads, you will sometimes see a "BioWare" logo underneath the thread title. That means a staff member has commented somewhere in the thread. If you click the logo it will show you ONLY staff posts in that thread.

I HATE EVERYONE, THIS IS

Nah. Serious time-

The new PM system. Its going to get a little annoying not being able to send PMs to users you aren't friends with. It kind of reminds me of the Xbox One's system of not being able to give/trade a game with someone online unless you've been friends with them for over 30 days. Now to send a PM to someone I have to actually send them a friend request first, and that has to be accepted, even if there's no real point to it. :/

I think I'd rather the Block system was more integrated into the forum and more comprehensive. Right now, unless I'm mistaken, the Block feature simply blocks PMs and friend requests from people? I think blocking someone should make their posts invisible to you so you don't have to deal with them anymore, whatsoever.

There's also this specific user I have a problem with by the name of Jessica Merizan- my problem with her being not really much of a problem, more of a pet peeve, BUT I DON'T SEE HER POST ENOUGH ON THESE BOARDS SPREADING HER POSITIVITY LIKE SHE DOES AND IT MAKES ME A SAD PRINCE.

Forum needs more Merizanning for positivity purposes.

AND THATS ALL.

*drops mic, walks off, crowd cheers*

I have always hated the lack of ordinary time stamps with this software. I want to see the real thing, not an estimate.

1) That's only available if you're signed in. It's silly that I need to constantly sign in to simply look at dev posts quickly.
2) It's only for that thread. There's no where to go to find all of the Dev posts in the past few days.

Another example of this is the system Blizzard's forums use to track all of the important Dev/CM posts

I'd like the ability to block people so that you don't see their posts.

Yes, but that's for that one thread. The SWTOR forums have it for every single dev post on all subforums and threads combined.

As far as the new PM system goes, I would like to see it become an option. I can get that some people will like the idea and we're told that the system as a whole is pretty good for the mods, but at the same time I used to get a good amount of PMs from people asking about Mass Effect 3 mechanics who aren't on my friend's list. They either see my signature and have an additional question, or are told by a friend that I'll probably know the answer or can find out for them.

Also love the idea of letting us upload custom avatars directly, rather than having to use the DA:O Character Creator.

If a forum member is in good standing(sends reports, doesn't cause trouble, diffuses situations, puts smiles on faces, kisses babies), there could be a "Good/Helpful Member" tag. Doesn't hold any power, but it does signify to newbies or just people struggling with something that if they need help that doesn't require a moderator, they can reach out to that member and hopefully get some questions answered or whatever.

I don't see your posts in my news feed, despite having you in my friends list. Same with Christ Priestly.

If this is a bug, I'd like that fixed as well. If this is a feature, then never mind.

Aesthetically, being able to create our own avatars without resorting to the server hack would be nice.

Culturally, I'm not sure if there's anything Bioware can do. The fanbase has weathered two huge firestorms in a row. There's still a lot of disappointment and resentment here. It's not as overt as it was this time last year, but I think it's still here, waiting to boil over again.

The only thing that will heal those wounds is time... and good games, of course.

For people talking about viewing BioWare posts, you can see a good example of what they're talking about here:

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/

At the top of the forums, you can see the latest posts from Blizzard employees from the entire forum just in case you missed a thread and it dropped off the front page.

More current forum software, with a responsive design is a must.

I've heard horror stories about BSN on mobile devices, but have yet to burn my eyes with it myself.

Yeah, BSN is barely functional on a smartphone.

Bungie recently revamped their forums, and included easier ways to hide threads and block users. You can basically create the Bungie.net that you want to see. The only problem is that it broke private groups, which is pretty much the only reason I come to BSN these days.
