I know I already said it early in this thread, but let me just restate for emphasis, that there is no need for us to go through the whole rigmarole involving uploading custom avatars through DA:O/DAII/DA:OCC when there's the very simple and easy-use method that other forums and sites utilise. And should something go wrong for some reason despite all your best efforts it can be a hell of an exercise in frustration that we really should not have to put up with.

That is all.

Yeah, stop banning me.

Also gifs and images are awesome, and should be applied liberally for community giggles. You know the "social" aspect.

Why would anyone want to be social about anything other than alien foot fetishes on the BioWare Sociopath Network?

Stop deleting threads outright instead of merely locking. In the DAI forum some threads on controversial topics got rather heated and were nuked despite many contributors and pages of discussion before things went bad. These threads were not worthless spam and had posts worth reading later even if things had gone downhill.

I'd like to be able to upload my own images to use as my icon on the forums.
As I'm a 360 user (And more recently ps3) I don't have a gaming capable PC; and cannot glitch my own custom avatar.
It's frustrating to see all the other interesting images people have managed to put up while I have such a limited list of visual stimulants of the artistic variety to utilize.

I find it impossible to 1-star a thread.

Wonder why that is.

um... private messages would be nice again. I don't very much care for "Friending" members and often before you removed this feature it was used to discuss something that didn't directly apply to the thread when engaging with members posting in the thread. This was done to avoid it being locked for being off topic. Do I really need to friend someone to have a brief chuckle, where afterwards I may possibly never talk to that person again?

Was there a spam issue on this or something? I was away for a while and when I returned no more private messages. ??

BioWare please get rid of the mod bots.

Handing over the moderation of your forum to a bunch of automated drones / bots is not exactly the smartest idea that BioWare ever had.

Those aren't bots, those are accounts shared by multiple moderators.

Bring back PMs. Seriously. If you are worried mods will get hassled (which is a stupid idea in general since the ability to communicate with site moderators is an important foundation of any internet community) then turn off the PMs for them. Or just give individual users to turn off private messaging if they don't want to get bothered.

Right now it's an annoying progress that involves placing members you may not even know, or want, on your friend's list just so you can PM them something. It's annoying, and unneccessary.

How do you know? They seem pretty automated to me. Got a few PMs from a few of them, all of them canned copy-pasted PMs, all exactly the same.

Because I spoke to mods about these new accounts and every moderator when suspending someone uses the same format for giving out suspensions/bans.

Not true. When the mightly Chris Priestly bans me (man I miss his bans already) he always writes a personal PM to me explaining me why I'm banned. None of his PMs are canned or copy-pasted PMs. Only the BioWareMods do that.

Besides, who the f- wants to take the job of being a generic BioWareMod[INSERT NUMBER HERE] moderator on BSN?  I can think of better ways to kill my time honestly.

I believe the "mods" are probably just random EA employees that take control of the accounts to dish out their punishments. So its probably not the same person every time.

That sounds like a reasonable and quite possibly true explanation.

Maybe these BioWareMods are regular users who have acces to these BioWareMod accounts to help BioWare out? I know a few users who I suspect of having acces to those BioWareMod accounts...

Alright guys, back to making suggestions.

This one being completely superficial, but I'd like the ability to choose the type of background I have personally for the forum.

For example, right now its Mass Effect 3. I'd like to be able to have the option to change that from Mass 3 to any of Bioware's other titles, such as Mass 1 and 2, either of the DA's, Jade Empire, etc etc.

Possible. But doubt it. Bioware claims to want to have mods with no '"bias" and giving control to fans is the worst way to go about that. Fans are also flakey and can just leave you high and dry when you need someone to moderate your forum.

The new BioWareMods are not technically EA employees, and as far as I know, they are not accessible to anyone outside of the organization the BioWareMods work for. That means they are not used by random BSN community members, named Moderators, or BioWarians.

They are also not robots, but generic account names that can be logged into when it's someone's shift. Having a standard format for informing people of bans means less work for them when banning. Heck, i use the same format when informing people of bans, but I take the long way and type it all out manually each time. :)

You really typed all those out manually?

Props. You got me a few times there, never realized you went through the trouble of doing it yourself, though you did add a little extra a few times, so I can see it now.

I like being banned without getting a message telling me for what or how long. Makes me happy tbh.

(This is me... joking.)

A way to change user name.
