Is it possible that you could somehow give us the ability to put our own avatars on out profile on the BSN, instead of using the Dragon Age: Origins character creator?

Also, can there be a mobile version of the BSN?

I agree with this. The mobile version is also necessary in part because it's complete murder when trying to create a new PM via a mobile device. And then you have the issue of being unable to see the rest of a post when quoting somebody on the forums, or if your post is long enough to need scrolling on the standard form when making forum posts.

As for the whole avatar thing, while I've been uploading avatars via the DA:O CC for ages now to the point that it's become second nature, it baffles me why we aren't allowed to do so through the simple, straightforward way that every other forum and/or social network uses.

A much less-strict system on what is considered spam would be awesome.

Spam.

End of line.

If the number of friends increases then obviously the number of posts you may want to keep track of increases, so it would be great to see that reflected in the recent activity list. A longer list (at least double) would certainly help.

Also, I've noticed that for some reason some "likes" disappear. That's obviously a bug. It would be great to have that fixed.

Edit: And yes, custom avatars without the need for tricks would be fantastic.

Custom avatars as an official feature would be great. That way I can finally delete DA2 from my HDD.

I know this isn't Facebook, and I'm very glad for that, but there are definitely some upgrades due. BW did a great job upgrading from the previous iteration (even though it unfortunately erased a huge pool of discussion and information from ME1, KOTOR and other games), and I expect there to be another pretty big revamp by the time DA3 or ME4 comes around - I look forward to that.

One thing that irked me was when the technical support threads were shut down and everyone was redirected to the gawd awful EA Answer HQ. Our tech forums were perhaps the most useful and productive places on all of BSN.

Would definitely like to see my home page feed be able to go back in history since the last time I was on, instead of stopping at the last 20 or so friend activities. If one friend is having a heated discussion in a group or thread, then it pretty much fills my feed.

Other than that, I'm pretty sure the consensus about the new PM changes are pretty well known. Give us options to turn it on or off, or leave it for friends only, etc.

Better search function. the current one is awful.
I don't think you can preview your post , or I never found out how.
I found out I had friends request by accident....

Another one: Wall-To-Wall conversations are cut off. It would be great to have a scroll bar there to allow to see all comments between two.

I would like a developer tracker, like on BioWare/EA's SWTOR forums. A simple thread that contains every single post made by BioWare devs.

This a 1000 times over. Riot has a really nice feature on their forums which will tell you how many posts in a thread are dev posts and lets you cycle through them...skipping the hundreds of posts in between.

If I'm understanding your request correctly, you can actually already do this. On the list of threads, you will sometimes see a "BioWare" logo underneath the thread title. That means a staff member has commented somewhere in the thread. If you click the logo it will show you ONLY staff posts in that thread.

Wow you learn something new everyday. Thank you!

However, as others have said, a Dev Tracker like SWTOR or Blizzard utilizes, would be a great asset. These forums can move very quickly and it would be SUPER nice to have the ability to look at all Dev posts in a single place instead of rummaging through every thread on every subforum looking for that little BioWare tag. ;)

-The Avatar system needs updated, it's a massive hassle to go through the DA:O character creator.

-The site should have a mobile version, as it is it's barely acceptable.

-Search functions need revamped.

-The ability to hide "Projects" like you can for comments, little to no-one works on projects and it makes our profiles look untidy.

-The ability to delete our own threads after, 15 or so days.

-The ability to lock comments on polls without deleting them.

-The ability to upload custom backgrounds for the site.

These are the additions I would make to this site but.. figures, humans.

If a forum member is in good standing(sends reports, doesn't cause trouble, diffuses situations, puts smiles on faces, kisses babies), there could be a "Good/Helpful Member" tag. Doesn't hold any power, but it does signify to newbies or just people struggling with something that if they need help that doesn't require a moderator, they can reach out to that member and hopefully get some questions answered or whatever.

Except new members can't reach out anymore, because they can't send PMs!

What I'd like to see:  an ignore function that actually removes posts by offensive posters from view, the ability to upload custom avatars without witchcraft and luck, a Bioware employee post tracker like the one employed on the swtor.com forums, being able to jump to any page in a thread through a drop down menu, and although the Bioware Blog is nice, it would be cool if we had something like Neverwinter Wednesdays again, someday, for whatever game makes sense (for instance, builds for multiplayer in ME3, tidbits about upcoming games, etc.)

Ok I totally admit this is small and trivial but everything else appears to be being asked right now.  But hey if you have time, who knows B)

The little games badges under your avatar showing what games you own are a bit like a symbol of pride.

My symbols of pride are hidden away on my "registered game content" page never to be seen by anyone but me.  Boooo :( I want everyone to know I own some kick ass Bioware  gear.  Be cool if they could show up on my profile somewhere (or other Bioware Store products out there or yet to come).

PM's toggle (Open to friends or everyone)
Online/Offline feature, we know who's online at the moment. It would be especially helpful when we know which mod we want to address our concerns to.
Better compatibility with smart phone. You can't scroll down the white box.
The glitch of the code of image being merge together with the code of quote causing the image and the message itself to disappear
Ignore posts would be nice. If you don't want to hear from a particular person, you can just put that person on ignore and the entire post would just not be visible. It would reduce the flame war greatly if this is implemented.

The ability to make one's profile private but not their ME3 HQ by extension (I have not found a way to do this, if it's already available).

Stick to standards. The legacy XHTML usage and zillion errors breaks few things from time to time and things vary between browsers (mobile browsers especially, login issues). Since it's impossible to talk about almost anything character related, makes the groups better with proper pagination etc. comparable to actual forums.

I almost never use the pm system and 99% when I do it is with people I don't know so, I could see that change being tedious for the rare times I would like to use the pm system.

Things I'd like
-Delete inactive names and give everyone 1 name change token
-Custom avatars
-Spoiler tags
-Site is a pain to use on my phone, making the site easier more accessible on a mobile device would be nice.

Well, I'll just throw my 2 cents in.

Let me say that I've only been here for less than a year, and I mostly only use the ME3 MP boards and groups. I don't use the other features of this site much. But there are still some things that I think could use some improvement (apart from the current PM problem):

1. Custom avatars. It currently is a pain to get them, and in order to do it one must go through several hours of a process, not to mention having a DA game and/or being able to run the character generator. It really doesn't make much sense. Just let us upload our custom avatars and be done with it.

2. The wall. Currently, the comments there are just put in a completely random order - sometimes from the most recent to the least, sometimes in the opposite way, sometimes it almost seems like comments just disappear entirely. This could really use a overhaul.

3. The Newsfeed. As Jk says, for those who use it the fact that it's restricted to a certain amount of posts is quite bad.

That's pretty much all I can think of, fore now... I'm sure I'll be back though :wizard:

Wow, Jessica, thanks for asking. I second many of these suggestions.

1. I'd like a robust mobile platform where the text boxes actually scroll.
2. I'd like a report button that goes to someone who can do something in a timely manner when there's rough housing on the playground. It would be nice if there's an option not just for an individual but for a whole thread.
3. Love the idea of a dev tracker.
4. I'd love multiquote and a preview function for when you post.
5. I'd love a history of all my posts, no just the past few.
6. I'd like to be able to PM anyone, not just those on my friend list, so that personal conversations, good and otherwise, can happen off line.
7. It would be nice to have a , um, supported option for uploading your own avatar instead of those folks who BREAK THE RULES in order to do so... :/
8. I'd love a search function that searches inside posts in a reliable way.

That's all off the top of my head. Looking forward to a new BSN, whatever that might look like.

I would love to be able to filter what will show up in the feed individually by user, that is to say, if I want to "track" someone's status updates but not their forums posts, have that be an option, similar to what is done in sites like Deviantart or Youtube.

I would like any future "social media" games like Dragon Age Legends to actually be run through the BSN instead of Facebook. I mean, what is the point of this being the Bioware Social Network otherwise.

No hoops to jump through for custom avatars would be nice.

Post preview would be very nice.

Mobile version/app of the site would be helpful.

Fix it so you can type "class" with an uppercase C.

Agreed w/ this, a mobile friendly version of the site or a BSN app would be really nice.

I'd also like to see a feature that would allow username changes, maybe like someone else has said, give each account 1 or 2 name change tokens.

Custom avatars.
