upvoting or downvoting comments.
it lets people voice their opinion without starting a flamewar.

That sort of thing usually turns into forumites gaming the system and ganging up on people they simply don't like. I think it's the same reason why BioWare decided not to include post counts on here.

and a letsplay subforum so u can watch videogames so others can video while you game.

There's already a Let's Plat subforum. It's called YouTube. :)

can....can ponies have subforum?

A post preview option would be nice.

An option to change usernames without bothering JR (if he's still around) would be nice.

can....can ponies have subforum?

The thread is stickied, I somehow don't see it going farther than that.

One thing that would definitely help. Due to the friends-only PMing change, reporting to moderators has become significantly more complicated. What I'd like to see is an "upgrade" to that. If I remember correctly, moderators have sub-forums for each particular forum to handle issues and whatnot.

Why not have the a system to send reports to a specific topic in said sub-forum and have them locked after they're validated/invalidated? However, I'm not sure how often reports come in so it may be more trouble than it's worth, I don't know for sure. I recall an earlier comment on fixing the report system, but admit I don't remember the details. It'd allow Mods to be aware of upcoming issues without overwhelming the message folders.

Can we have access to our older topics? Just to avoid losing them I don't make new topics. Only your 15 recent topics are available. If you make another topic you'll lose the 15th topic (oldest) in your Profile/Forums section.

I personally use Google. "Name of Thread" + BioWare Social Network + (Whatever Subforum it's in). As long as it isn't outright deleted and you remember the topic name, you should be able to get to it. There's also a search function above if that doesn't work for some reason.

I'm not quite sure why it was stickied in the first place.

I remember, when I first signed up, pony pictures were being posted everywhere. Methinks it was stickied so the pony fans had an easy to find place for their pics.

Incorrect. It's not like Wikipedia, where every entry has a Talk section. Moderators have a single forum where we can discuss things.

Reporting issues, if anything, has gotten much easier. You click one button, input some details, and the report goes on a list that is being monitored by dedicated Moderators.

Why not have the a system to send reports to a specific topic in said sub-forum and have them locked after they're validated/invalidated? The report tool used to send reports to EA Community staff. BSN Mods didn't really have visibility on that list. Now, any Moderator can see the list and claim any issue on it.

I do love the way the threads are laid out.

Kudos for cleaning up the categorization of the threads.

Dragon Age Franchise
Mass Effect Franchise
Bioware General
Dragon Age Legends

All neatly arranged.
Everything is easier to find now.

I would like to see a removal of the complete lists of moderators for each section.
The 'Discussion forums for Dragon Age II' (or any other game/subforum) would look better with a small font as well.

Also a new lay-out or overhaul would be welcome (less yellow please).

I'm sure this has already been said, but an easy way to alter the user's avatar. This is definitely the hardest forum site to choose an avatar. Some people (such as myself) cannot change theirs (there's a problem with displaying my characters... i.e. is todesn't display them). As much as I like the dragon picture, it gets kind of old having the same one, and this is the only pre-defined avatar that I like.

It has already been said. A lot.
It needs to be said a lot more.

I would like it to be easy to change the avatar.

I feel all this intel gathered is going to be used for the next Bioboards/BSN Site.if not this place gets shutdown for a month or two and reopened just before the release of DA:I

two i should become a mod.i would be one of the greatest mods to become empowered on here.i could be such an arse when closing threads or banning people and i just fired somebody two days ago at work.So now i have this lust for power, which is nice.Come on you know i would make a great One...thats what she/he said would be my thread closing liner :D

It would be fine if you made us register at least one game before we were allowed to download customs, but yeah, pretty much the general consensus that we want an easier system.

Already said [spoiler] code, the avi process, some sort of in-thread like system(dislikes tend to go nowhere), sites been streamlined nicely, but it needs to be made a prettier...

Yeah, I think that's everything.

If you are building a mobile site please remember that IE in Windows Phone 8 does not use webkit, so it would be nice if you could kept those disgusting webkit prefixes to a minimum, web standards exist for a reason.

It's kinda sad having to explain this to some web developers in 2014, thank god Google forked Webkit because it was on its way to become the new Internet Explorer 6.

I'd like to see the filter removed. All of BioWare's games are rated 'mature.' It's not like this place is filled with four year olds (though judging from my posts there may be at least *one.*)

Oh, and it would be cool to have a spoiler tag. The way this worked is if you used this
Spoiler
it would black out the text and the only way to view it would be to highlight it.

Oh yes, more emotes would be nice as well as custom avatars. It's damn shameful that we don't have any xD it'd be easier to recognise the regulars here. And I'd like my own gif avatar too!

I go by the "Better Safe than Sorry" mantra. Not everyone viewing the forum have bought the games. A lack of posting ability doesn't mean people outside of the BioWare fanbase aren't lurking. As far as swearing in general, my answer can be found hyah.

I would like it to be easy to change the avatar.

Considering how many have vocalized this, I wouldn't be surprised to see it come to light, considering recent circumstances.

Filters make sense for Bioware, given what it is and the fact that the forum is free. Public opinion and all that, too. Think about how crazy this forum is and the kind of stuff people post already- now imagine it being even more descriptive. Hell no.

If we were paying for it, or if Bioware was a much smaller company, I think a filter probably wouldn't be implemented.

Would like to see the option of uploading custom avatars -- It's already bad enough with the Dragon Age Character Uploader not working because the servers are still down for over a week now.

This would definitely be nice.  Also, this explains why the ones I tried to upload a few days ago wouldn't show up.
